The problem is that when racing in reality (in any class of cars) the construction of the corners, their sequence and the tightness of some sections basically make for a single lane around the middle part of the track, and every attempt of attacking the car in front makes you waste a lot of time and momentum. Add to it the huge dimensions of the F1 cars of this era and the fact that the previous generation was horrible in dirty air and the racing was a snoozefest. I went to Valencia in 2008. When we got to our numbered grandstand, lots of fans couldn't find their seats. They just weren't there. Apparently when the grandstand was erected and after the seats were bolted into place and numbered, someone realised there wasn't a gangway in the middle. They removed a swathe of seats but didn't re-number the remaining ones. The unlucky fans were told that the stewards knew about this and directed them to another grandstand where they would find seats. After about half-an-hour they all trooped back as there were no other seats so they sat on the steps where their seats would have been. Understandably the stewards weren't happy for health & safety reasons but the fans stayed put and we had to negotiate our way round them. Later, I walked miles to the merchandise area but was told only those fans with seats opposite the pits had access. As you can imagine the stall holders were furious. It was sorted by race day but by then I CBA to go back. I never went again.

Interesting to have Indianapolis in the thumbnail but not in the list? And it should come back, as the grounds for the track have been updated and it's central US location and of course, racing history, make it an ideal spot for the sport. About Sochi being a Bottas circuit, he did get his first win there in 2017, maybe should've won the year after when he lost out to team orders, but that 2020 race you showed was the one that was pretty much gift-wrapped for him when Hamilton compromised his own race before it even started in a classic "not knowing the rules" moment. It's a real shame that F1 never got to race in Hanoi, would have been interesting to see how it raced.

My appreciation of most of those street tracks : 🤢🤮 Their ONLY advantage is that they are very accessible for the spectators as they are IN a city.

For me Valencia is my favorite track, and I think I am the only one who does. As the 2012 Valencian gp was my first ever race I watch

Lol. I totally get what you mean buttttt… Miami had one good race. Doesn’t make Miami a good track. So that is my perspective on Valencia as well
