F1 Circuit Zandvoort - Renovation update 28-02-2020

Renovation update of Circuit Zandvoort for Formula 1 status.
Track has been completed with top layer asphalt.
All cerb stones and have been placed, also the fences around the Hugenholtz and Luyendyk.
Already (race)cars have run over the new circuit of Zandvoort.
Please check my future video's to see the progress of work of the rest of the circuit.

Hans Hugenholz, a dutch circuit designer was the father of this layout. He also designed Suzuka btw.. So fairly old school, and far from the Tilke designs (thank God). The Italians did a fantastic job to compliment what was already in place 👍

Samuel Orlean It’s a Tilkedrome, it might produce some racing, but the track feels empty, artificial and bland. Zandvoort might be more difficult to overtake on, but it’s track that has a lot history, beautiful surroundings in the dunes and right next to the sea and I can imagine there will be enough fans to fill all grandstands

Now that its finished and your holiday is over ...... This looks like a good track, very small some odd run offs and rejoins I have seen in other video. Then there is that pit lane exit inside first corner and exit onto a straight of sorts. Waitng to see how that works under race conditions, even the demo seemed to struggle to get onto a race line but there were a lot of cars on track and he was talking with to his four passengers. Certainly the track will be ready and hopefully it will have some rubber worked in.. Not new look, similar to the track F1 left all those years ago. Designs have changed but this looks like a fun track, I have heard many drivers like the roller coaster style and that seems to be a feature of Zandvoort. Still hoping you can drive or drone the track over the race line one more time..... sure looks like the locals are having fun testing the new surface. Thank you Jorg

Looks like for the banked corners they now just need to add the poly styrene, and metal grating for the safer barriers, glad to see they did also put in a catch fence there as well should any of the cars or debris get airborne it's there to stop them/that from going over the barrier. It's going to be interesting to see how the tires hold up, I can't imagine the f1 cars running on anything softer than mediums unless they are making qualifying runs.

Looks like it will be an epic track to drive/qualify on, but not seeing a lot of opportunity for good racing. Lots of fast flowy bits, not seeing many deep breaking zones, long straights or slow chickens, you know, the usual manmade things current f1 cars need to pass. Hopefully this track will come alive with the 2021 cars!

Probably not, besides, there is no competing with Assen. That said I'm wondering whether bikes will return at all. Kerbs look more forgiving to bikes, which seems to be the main concern.

@@Quintinohthree BSB visit Assen each year and my initial thought was that if they wanted a second international level track on the calendar this may be it. Building a track that can handle cars and bikes is the way to go but Assen is so iconic for bikes that this track may simply be only used for cars or the domestic european superbike series.
