We have been racing speedway bikes in Australia since about 1923. There has been multiple Australian champions over the last century.

Suzi, it's good to see you getting into speedway. Maybe you should give Ice Speedway a looking at. To get grip on the ice, they have 200 2 inch spikes in the tyres. They lean so far over that their elbows touch the track, (the left hand handle bar is shorter than the right so they can lean over more. Try the 2019 FIM Ice Speedway World Championship - Berlin (GER). Meetings are held over 2 days, with a 20 heat plus 2 semi-finals and a final each day. Great reactions too.

Most people in the UK would have a track fairly close to them so even though I don't know where you're from I'm sure you do have a team within a reasonable distance to you. An hour and a half entertainment and a nice evening out during the summer makes speedway such an appealing thing for me to watch. I live on the isle of Wight and unfortunately our team packed up a couple of years ago i believe but hoping to see the Poole pirates when we go on holiday to the mainland next year.

Checkout the Speedway of Nations. 3 riders represent their country and work as a team to win. The UK is the reigning champion.

Have you checked out speedway racing with sprintcars? Sprintcars have around 900hp and a better power to weight ratio than F1.
