What a simple and efficient engine was this Ford Cosworth V8... So many victories in differents teams... Sounds amazing too... Not savage like a V12, but just precise, like a clock.

Used to have one of these model cars as a child and it was one of my favourites. Stunning car and even better sound!

What a great video and what a great thing to once again see sir Jackie Stewart on the track.

Great to see these cars. If anyone wondered why it didn't start to begin with, it was done on purpose, they turn the engine over for a while with no ignition to get oil pressure up and prime everything before turning on ignition, a quick squirt of fuel down the intakes and then she fired instantly. They then remove the swirl/oil catch tank lid (behind drivers head rest pad) to see the oil level, as it dry sumped there's no dipstick so engine has to run to check oil level.

What a handsome racing car. It was clear the driver was shifting very carefully, very gently, making sure he wouldn't break that gearbox, naturally, because the actual drivers for this car back in the day shifted a whole lot quicker.

For me, 1972 thru 1976 were the years with the most interesting looking F1 cars. Inasmuch as in the 1960s, they all looked somewhat similar to each other (a cigar with 4 skinny wheels), and later on (nowdays especially) they look very similar to each other, in the early 1970s, there was the introduction of massive slick tyres, there were so many variations in aero, with cars looking radically different from one another, like the two teams that fought fierlesslly for the championship, inn1972 and 1973; Tyrrell and Lotus looking so very different. Besides, sponsorship, for some reason, seemed more elegant, simpler. There was one problem... they were deadly machines, and this was tragic.

I was at the track when Stewart won, and then again when Cevert was killed and Team Tyrrell withdrew.
