I’d love for some customization of careers where you can adjust teams budgets and facilities before the save and edit drivers stats and car performance. Just stuff like that which allows us to take more control of the game

The changes that I was hoping for the 2023 game: -Faster improvement from the F2/F3 drivers -Better AI -Change teams (confirmed by devs) -Sprint Races -More decision making -Random engine failures -Build a driver academy or to loan drivers (for example reserve drivers) to other teams -Pit stop mistakes -Pit lane start -Formation lap pit stop -Pit lane speeding mistakes -Rating decrease for veteran drivers or drivers that don't perform -Race highlights -F2/F3 drivers face design (at least the highest rated F2/F3 drivers) -Different helmet designs when a driver changes teams I will buy this year's game and I will see how many of these things were in the game. Most of them could be fixed with a game editor like Motorsport Manager or Football Manager have.

@@rubenfaqs i will buy the game the next week, but in the main F1 Manager Reddit there are already plenty of hardcore players having troubles finding an OP car development (which is great news). The AI seems to be way more intelligent and wet races seem to be way less predictable. Also, the cost cap looks to be way a bigger factor with the increase in price for manufacturing parts and development/research. The driver development looks to be improved for young drivers and linked with the performances (but still needs time to be confirmed), Piastri can be 79-80 rating by the summer break. Tyre temps are really a key factor during races. If the Team Change update works fine, this game looks to be a 10/10, but I will confirm when I have played a full season by myself.

@@rubenfaqs after playing it for a couple of days, these are my first thoughts: -The AI is kind of "alive" during the races. You see how they are constantly changing their ERS deployment or how agressive they push. Sometimes it seems like if they play the team work as they try to create a DRS train with their teammate to not let you pass. They even sometimes try to hold to your DRS if you try to push and they will try to keep you aeay from their DRS right after overtaking you. It's really fun, difficult. Feels amazing when you finally beat the AI in the strategy and race management. -It feels 100% necessary to do the FP sessions. If you simulate them, you will totally underperform, specially with rookie F2 drivers. This makes the game longer as now it takes me between 75-90 minutes to do a whole weekend instead of the 30-35 minutes compared to 2022. -Tire temps are the key to sucess. If you understand how the tires work, how to heat them up quickly and don't overheat them, you will make moves on Sundays. This adds a lot, as pushing too much will csuse punctures, mistakes, loss of confidence and breaking the car. -Way easier to break cost cap and way less amount of money to play with. I've started playing with Williams and I've realized that I can't afford to any of my drivers to have a massive crash. Engine parts and Emergency Manufactures have increased their costs a lot. Also, now parts take longer to manufacture but a bit they are faster to develop, so having a plan of where to bring upgrades will help massively (like real F1 teams) -Young drivers development has been improved a lot. I've started with Williams with Albon and Lawson and Liam has already developed to be a 75 rated driver in the first six races, improving a total of 13 points in total (something that before would take me almost to the summer break). Also, you understand why they are improving. Liam for example, improved his adaptavility when he got experience in a FP session at wet conditions and when he outperformed Alex at the Baku Sprint weekend. My only issue with this is that at least until now, the F2 and F3 simulations feel too unrealistic with Paul Aron and Dino Beganovic below 15th position in F3 and with Martins, Malouney and Bearman below 12th place in F2. -The staff ratings are way better with some great free agents and also some great F2 engineers. This adds some variety and it's great to see the F2 staff being treated well. -Decision making. Often you will have to make decisions related to your facilities or staff which is cool and which affects to your performance in the short term. -The middle session save works really well and it' s a really nice feature to have. -The game still has some bad things like the way the AI perform in the first laps of the race, the tire compound delta (which is exagerated), the lack of face designs for F2/F3 drivers, the same helmet preset designs for F2/F3 drivers, no audio for F2/F3 drivers, the low depth for the sponsorship side of the team, the lack of UI customizations, the lack of visual evolution in the Facilitiy designs whenever upgrading them, the lack of a summery of all the seasons played during the save, the AI impeding at Qualy, the lack of Pre Season gameplay and the lack of program objetives at Free Practice Still, a really good game, that with the team switching will surely have a bigger longevity than last year's game. If you enjoyed 2022 and you want a more serious game, this game is for you. If what you want is to play a whole season in 4-5 hours, probably 2022 is the game for you instead of 2023. I hope this helps you.

@@Fiascotje If you enjoyed last year's game, like the improvements and want to play it now, probably yes! If you don't mind waiting 4 days, standard edition is 10 cheaper, which is what I did. Sale it'll definitely be worth it, but you'd have to wait.

New ideas for next years game: 1. Start managing a F3/F2 team (optional and just for experienced players). Start managing a team like Prema/ART/MP and after getting a championship with them in F2, being promoted to a team like Alfa Romeo/Williams or Alpha Tauri. 2. Game Editor. Similar to the Motorsport Manager or Football Manager Editor: a tool that gives us the chance to change the ratings, the growth rate or the performance of the cars without the use of mods. 3. A season summary report that tells us in every season who was the driver that got pole, win, fastest lap, the qualy and race head to head, points and championship standings. 4. Engine regulation change and the ability to develop the engines from 2026 onwards. They already have that feature in Codemasters games. The game doesn't need to actually tell us to which engines we are switching, just a %percentage of how power we will lose or gain with the regulation change. 5. Different calendar order or the introduction of new tracks. Probably new tracks would be a lot of money, so the option to change the order of races would add so much longevity to the game. 6. Reserve driver's job needs to be more relevant. I think that the car parts that we develop should be better or worse depending on the reserve driver or at least how accurate is what we expected from that part to affect the car and what it actually improved the car. These are just ideas for next year's game that would add a lot to the career mode experience. I'm sure that I will enjoy this year's game as much or more than last year's but I think that this changes would make a lot more players to get interested in this game series.

Only thing I prefer from last years game is the menus, for some reason the menus this year look weird and less F1 like, also some teams have the wrong driver as their first driver like Mercedes thinking George Russell is the first driver or McLaren thinking it’s Oscar Piastri other than that it’s a step up in terms of race simulation and realism

The one improvement I really hope they made was to make the ai smarter. Smarter in strategy and smarter in car development. I don’t want to be able to win the championship with haas in season 2. Edit: also, make strategy’s less clear cut. I don’t want to know exactly how the tyre is going to degrade.

Anyone else getting the game locking up in the data view screen while flicking through standings, lap history etc??? Game is still playing in background though. 3rd time it's happened. Have to close game and reload to fix.

F1 manager is an amzing game however it is lacking some proper team principle moments. First is allowing drivers to rebuff the orders and more. Also maybe towards the end of a race you can see them enter the pits. Also you should be allowed to speak to the drivers behind the scenes. This is now my problem but for qualifying it would be better that after every session it didn’t stop but continued. You could make subtle changes and can’t move your car till the stewards enable green light. And track evolution should be much more noticeable. It other than fine tuning some things this game is one of the best games out there including the fact that it has been in the makes for 3 years

Bug report (PS5) Bug (fuel for car 2 , is wrong , you put 20 laps of fuel in , it weighs 21 laps worth and report you have 19 laps in the car,(notice seems to be the higher the driver’s smoothness is the less fuel they use ) Bug (2) the ERS battle assist , doesn’t work , rival cars just go (zoom zoom ) past you , (take it off they actually try to defend themselves, Bug (3) McLaren - Oscar is being called Alex 🤔 Bug (4) drivers still learn car part knowledge while in the pit getting there setup changed , it mirrors the driver that is still out on track, (Bug (5) very minor graphics glitch on the nose of the car (pixels just in front of it) not really worth fixing tbh, Bug (6) when behind safety car, the fuel skyrockets (saved) how can the car save almost an entire laps worth of fuel ( previous game it was like 01/0.2 lap now it’s like 1/2 KG per lap far too much , (after 4 laps I had 8 KG + saved on push option too) Not Bug but feature - Request the >Overtake< button back in ERS, (also a defend ) ( it’s all good telling them how to defend or attack) but they don’t seem to want to ( probably because of bug 2) ( also I want to tell my drivers to do it ) Not a bug but a (?) all cars seem to have there crash % raised since last game, they all either crash into each other , spin, lock up , or get distracted by the pretty butterfly’s , ( in other words it’s set far too high ) The AI cheats in Qualifying- 319 KPH vs 322 KPH is about 0.8 seconds , not 2 to 3 full seconds that it has to have in order to beat you no matter what time you set , it’ll suddenly gain that 2 to 3 seconds gap . ( had that in 2022 version as well) The AI only uses one type of tyre per race ~ prime example is Verstappen only using soft tyres . Request , pit lane is empty ( everyone is off having lunch, even if its 2D sprites , be nice to have someone on the pit wall🙂

@@youcreateyourownstory nothing at all rude about asking for my thoughts. I spent prior years playing Motorsport Manager and expected F1M to at least be a good. Although F1M's presentation is second to none, the various bugs/issue and frontier Dev's decision to end support for the game so early left a bad taste in my mouth. Some of the things I didn't like about the game: * Not being able to apply for new jobs * It being game over if the board lost faith in you as a manager and having to restart the game * The staff and driver negotiation process. I didn't like that decisions were made immediately. It should take days or weeks for the staff member or driver to get back to you. * On-track presentation looked lifeless - pit wall always appeared empty

I’m disappointed so far ordered deluxe edition very buggy as I would expect on release day but I wasn’t expecting it to be that bad. Car performance needs a major patch. McLarens and Alfa Romeos are far to slow and Ferrari and Aston Martin are too quick. There is a glitch where the cars go through each other or through a wall without sustaining damage. Also there is a problem where cars would all train track each other in DRS and no overtakes are ever made.

Deleted the game as give up trying,,3 to 12 second Pitstop with guys just rocking back n forth or banging on wheels,,try to train them but only lasts for few days and goes back in the red,,what's the point of having a staff member in charge when they do nothing as the manager has to do it. Just couldn't improve the car and with fires and closing of design or factory just makes it really unenjoyable. What ended it for me was at miami called driver in to pit ,,he decides to go down the inside after the straight so he blocked himself going in the pit and he just stopped on track letting 4 cars go around the outside then he went in the pit,,so dunno if that's a bug or just crap AI. But that was enough misery.
