There have been more dominant examples. Just to name one: Mansell at Silverstone in 1992, where the gap between his pole position time and second on the grid was greater (1.919 seconds) than Senna’s supremacy over Prost at Monaco ‘88 (1.427 seconds).

Prost at France 1983 was on pole by more than 2 seconds. Schumacher at Monaco in 1994 was over 4 seconds faster than his teammate.

What made it fun was us predicting who will get pole. Who will get the fastest lap, who will win. When they have the strike distance right there showing when the cars will strike, it just takes the fun out of it

Mesmo carro e olha a diferença de tempo do Senna para o Prost, o cara era insano mesmo. Não haverá nenhum piloto melhor que ele, independente de quantos titulos, se ele arrepiava os companheiros de equipe com o mesmo carro imagine os demais, e olha que era um Prost ein.

O foco do Prost não era Qualificação, Mas sim as corridas. '88, Prost foi a piloto que mais venceu corridas, Mas a regra dos Descartes acabou com ele. Prost era pra ser Penta Campeão do Mundo.

@ hmm… all ifs and buts. Could equally say Senna was screwed out of the ‘89 title as technically his DSQ was for not completing the full distance (skipping the chicane). Wasn’t going to do a U-turn and drive against traffic was he? As Piquet later stated in a driver debriefing. For me, Senna was as good on a Sunday as he was on a Saturday.

Se fosse apenas sobre o Senna, O vídeo inteiro seria apenas recortes das voltas dele. O que não é o caso. Você não precisa ser um gênio pra perceber isso. 2. O comentário de Duds é sobre a diferença de tempos de Senna e Prost em qualificação. Whilst one of the best qualy laps ever was recorded we are treated to some cars leaving the pits and on an outlap...did they fire the TV director at least?

Is the legendary 1:24 lap actually captured on video? For most of the session, Senna was 3 SECONDS faster than Prost 🤯

@@jstoli996c4s unfortunately not - it’ll never be seen as wasn’t actually captured on the day. The first 50 metres of the lap can be found at 27:56 on this video. Then it cuts to Nannini in the pitlane.

@@nelson2020 yeah I know. It's a funny thing why noise is important to F1 cars and not easily explained. The best I can come up with is: it adds to the spectacle. Like when you hear a loud car on the road, everyone looks round and wants to know what it is... It's just exciting, bit like a thunderstorm when you've seen the lightning and are waiting for the thunder ⚡ 😁
