F1 Unluckiest Seasons - Johnny Herbert's 1992 [Lotus-Ford 107]

Johnny Herbert was paired with Mika Hakkinen for the 1992 Formula 1 season, with many fans and experts waiting anxiously for the Lotus team intra battle to unfold. But poor reliability from Herbert's side, hampered the comparison. The Englishman had 2 retirements in the Lotus-Ford 102D and a further 10(!) while driving the new 107. All that resulted in a mere 2 points and a 15th place for the drivers championship. Herbert would spent another two years with the now struggling Lotus team, before jumping ship at the end of the 1994 F1 Season.

02:16 - Hungary (L0/77) - Herbert got tangled up in turn 1 melee
02:34 - Belgium (L42/44) - Retired from 8th position with less than a lap from the finish
02:42 - Italy (L18/53) - While battling for points his engine gave up
02:51 - Portugal (L2/71) - Accident damage resulted in his 11th retirement
03:45 - Japan (L15/53) - He was running a strong 3rd before his gearbox exploded
