The Department of Homeland Security warns Students against memorizing answers that many "coaches" claim to teach. It is one of the leading causes of visa refusals.

In this video, we will go over the questions Visa Officers ask and how to answer them effectively. In our previous video, we laid the Visa structure and the foundation upon which we will build today. If you haven't done it already, watch it by clicking this card, and then return to this one.
Typically, the F1 student visa interview lasts two to seven minutes. You may get anywhere between five to twenty questions in your interview. In this video, we will cover the essential questions. Visit our page at greencardez.com for additional questions to familiarize yourself with different variations. We will leave the link in the description below.
The Visa Officer will cover the following topics:
• University and Study plans
• Finances
• Academics and Work
• Post Graduation plans
• General Questions
Before we review each of these individually, let's understand the Visa Officer's mindset.
The Visa Officer is trying to evaluate two things:
1. You are genuinely a student and not trying to obtain a Student Visa for fraudulent purposes, such as immigrating to the United States.
2. You intend to return to your home country after completing your studies.
Let's review each topic individually, starting with the first one: University and Study plans.
The Visa Officers will start their questions by typically asking you about your University and Study plans, the first category. It will include questions about the college or university you are going to and your course. Let's look at the questions in detail and how to best position your answers. Remember, at this stage, they're trying to evaluate whether you're a genuine student or not. The key to success is effectively sharing this information and answering confidently.
You will face basic questions to understand which university and program you seek the Visa for. They will include questions such as:
• What is the name of the college you want to go to?
• What program are you applying to?
The best way to answer this question is to share the name of the university and the program you're applying for the Visa.
It could look like I am applying for a Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas.
There may be a slight variation to the question. The Visa Officer may ask
• Why do you want a visa today?
The approach should be the same but with a slight twist. Share that you want to pursue your education, including the university's name and the program.
It could sound like: I want to earn a Master of Science in Computer Science. I have been accepted into the University of Texas at Dallas and would like to attend the program.
Remember, don't memorize your answers as the questions may vary. The key to success is to formulate the answers in your own words so you can adjust your answers to suit the questions.
Next, the Visa officer may ask you about other universities you applied to and those you got accepted into.
They are in the phase of evaluating whether you're a genuine student or not. Don't worry if you haven't been accepted into any other university.
The questions could look like this:
• Did you apply to other universities?
• How many universities did you apply to?

A MS in Canada moves you towards a PR and persistent high income but no glory, a MS in USA will move you into debt, a small burst of high income, but a lot of glory... Choose wisely depending on whether you want to earn long term or just break even. A MS in US is like a tourist visa because you can break even in 3 years, but you learn a lot, a MS in Canada is a earning visa because you can immigrate there and work indefinitely.

Consulars are very strict,don't give them reason for you not to go back to your home country coz F1 is about studies.....and one thi g about Americans is that they don't want to get the impression that you as an immigrant you're going to be a burden in their country. If your scholarship covers the entire amount on your I-20, then you don’t have to show solvent funds. However, showing a strong financial position reflects positively on you. We encourage you to show as many funds, solvent and insolvent, as possible.

There must some level of consistency on the part of any relative in the US, you can say No provided you made a mistake earlier but if you have a relative there you would have to indicate it. Always remember they will compare your previous information with your next DS-160 information
