Bottas’ weekend: - Qualifies on pole - Gets spun around on lap one - Gets stuck behind the same guy who spun him for the entire race - Gets a slow pit stop - Pits for fastest lap but unable to do it due to traffic - Pits again for fastest lap - 4-stop Ferrari strategy *TRADITIONS*

Sad for Bottas, the incident with Ricciardo destroyed his race. To be fair, Bottas should have defended against Verstappen aggressively. Max is fighting for world title and has to be risk avere where as Bottas has nothing to lose anymore as his seat is soon gone.

One of the oldest expressions in racing is, "You can't win the race on the first lap, but you can certainly lose it.". IMO, Max absolutely won the race on the first lap! The only real suspense at this point is the Constructor's Championship.

Max is a really intelligent driver, which he has shown in the first laps here. Getting on the outside knowing the two Mercs won’t be able to brake as late on the inside, and getting on the throttle at the immediately after the sc knowing the red bull had more grip out of the corner.

Comparing with Perez's recent... mishap. I think what max did right here is take the wide line, it allowed him to go for a sharper turn and go late on the brakes, so once he saw he outbraked Bottas he could slam himself in front. Instead of taking a tight line and turning without actually knowing you beat the person to the apex.

Absolutely zero sportsmanship from Hamilton by saying it was Bottas' fault for not blocking Verstappen. Bottas had a decent start, his only mistake was positioning himself so that Lewis could pass him at turn 1 or at turn 2. And to say such a thing about a man who's been always there as your wingman, offering you his hard fought race victories, it nullifies all of his "against all odds underdog fighter" image that Lewis is cultivating so much Look at Verstappen and Perez - even though Checo did not overtake Hamilton, Max celebrated with him and had high words for him.
