One eyed Australian fan here. I hope Lando can get a win this year. His qualifying performances are awesome and have lifted the team to a place they can kick goals from. DR has dealt with his earlier shortcomings by not blaming the team/car and by focusing what he needed to do for himself to catch up to the rest of the team. This is the best Formula One has ever been. I feel like this IS equilibrium for them, a healthy level of friendship and respect, however they are still direct competition to each other and both know it. So hopefully they will both push each other to be even better while having enough relationship to not be antagonistic and unpleasant to each other.
