I'm convinced that there is just a window of tyre life that he is unable to drive in. Like he can only drive well when the tyre's are fresh, or pretty worn. But I think that during the middle part of his stints, he's just not able to push, but feels like he should have more grip

It was common knowledge inters were faster and it looked like it would rain but dry tyres were not so much behind on pace. Button felt the track better.

Honestly, Charles is like that now so I guess hanging out with Vettel gives you that wish.
