As for me tutorial about making airliners and bombers cockpit shapes with flat windows would be a bit more useful because we already have a great fighter aircraft tutorial.

I plan on doing several paint schemes. I want to do at least one American version. A friend of mine flew F4s in Vietnam, but he started with the F-101. I've already made a Blender model of his Phantom, but I want to do his F-101 so I have a complete set. (blenderartists.org/t/f4-phantom-wip/1306273/38) I will definitely do at least one Canadian version, but I haven't decided which one.

If you have time or start a new project with modern (from 80's to nowadays) jet era, can you make a tutorial to how can we make a base mesh for it? especially around the intakes .How can we make a modell to be accurate shape and correct dimension with lower polycount . For the paneling ther is no neccessary to be the same edge loop to connect the whole mesh? or the group function will be hold together the panels to be one mesh after that? WW2 aircraft tuts are plenty on the net but modern jet not at all.

I've thought about doing a jet tutorial as well as a lower-poly tutorial. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

So I have commented a few times on your videos. I have a plane that I am currently applying these panels. I am having weird issues. The main shrink that it is forming to is smooth and all quads. I have to apply these shrinkwraps to cutting planes and the base mesh several times in order for it to finally match up. Just very odd. I apply them each like 5-6 times.

Sometimes it does take a couple of cycles of applying the shrink wraps to get things to line up. A couple of things I do if I'm having trouble getting the panel to conform to the base mesh: 1. Adjust the location of the edge-loops in the panel to better match the curvature of the panel. If the panel has a tight curve, it is sometimes helpful to have additional edge-loops along the sharp curve. This lets the shrink wrap better conform to that portion of the panel. 2. Add a few more edge-loops to the panel so it can snuggle down better against the base mesh. 3. Alternate between applying the cutting plane shrinks and the base mesh shrink. Sometimes the base mesh shrink pulls the edges of the panel out of alignment (and vice versa). If you alternate between the edge and base mesh shrinks, it might reduce the number of times you have to apply the modifiers.

@@Mark_Alloway love it. Yea last night when I was doing it till 0400 after watching Oppenheimer (good movie btw) I got a bit frustrated. Got a good nap in and now I’ve done about 1/3 of the total base panels for the airframe. No sub panels yet. Got a system going now! Thanks for the reply. I actually have been doing just that for the last few hours. I appreciate your videos too definitely a very thorough KZbin blender channel. Keep it up Mark!

Awesome model.! Do you use the same techniques and workflow like you did with the me-109? I am currently in the process of modeling my own 109 following your instruction vids.

I'm sure it has way too many polygons for a game. Right now I'm just developing a detailed model. Hopefully, a lower poly version will come later.
