I know why the connections were changed. Had a hard time getting mine apart. When I did the connections were fried. Rust and arcing. So I am cutting and replacing. But otherwise that is the blower problem. I was ready to tear into the dashboard. This works. Thanks

Thank you for making this video. Although my fan speeds work fine. It's handy information to have stored in my head. Usually the kind that stumps the kid at the parts counter! For those reading and perhaps wondering if... I have a '97 Ranger and the control center is exactly the same. Radio, tape deck and all. Unfortunately it's pouring down rain right and bitter cold out, so I'm not about to go out in the dark and look under the hood to see if the module is the same, but I will assume it is.

In HIGH, the resistors are probably bypassed and the fan runs at full battery voltage. The resistors are used to slow the fan down for the other speeds.

im having a similar issue on my 1999 7.3, i have full control of fan speed but it will only blow air if its on the first setting to the left of off. when put into any other mode the trucks RPMs go way down and theres a whine and a bad smell. does this mean my resistor is good but my AC blower motor is bad? any help from anybody is appreciated

Not a module. That's the blower motor resistor

It is a module. A module is just a component. And you are also correct, it is a resistor pack for the blower. Hopefully that helps! ;)
