Well yeah... But like any other language you can learn and understand it..

Also I'm not sure what sounds foreign to you. All the dialogue in this video is basic Military Aviation lingo

@@RedTail1-1 Nothing foreign. F-15 drivers had SH brevity discipline back then when it was all voice on BVR timeline. If this is one of those DCS player attempts to school someone, save yourself the trouble.

It sounds like technology has made what we did as controllers during the Cold War, obsolete today. I suppose each generation suffers that reality at some point.

I wouldn't say that, personally. The role of AWACS has evolved, but not been eliminated. If anything it's more important than ever. A single E-2 can manage an entire engagement beyond 100 miles with modern datalink, to the point that the enemy might not even see the fighters to begin with.

Whats RAM on scope? Never seen this before, also applicable in the 15c?

I believe we were actually in an F-15C model..and RAM stands for Radar Acquisition Mode...and is associated with TWS (Track While Scan) mode of that particular radar. I believe in older early radar systems (this was early 80s)...the radar would try allocate resources to track primary targets while continuing to scan for other contacts. As you can see when RAM popped up...the radar was focused on the two targets in an echelon formation while continuing to acquire passive data on any other non-focused targets. At this point in intercept the radar was trying to really acquire the targets for eventual lock up when we got within HUD and visual range. Great question. Hope you enjoyed. It was a thrill. I was an AWACS controller at the time and we were getting orientation rides to see what the fighter pilots saw. We were being controlled by AWACS in this mission.

Appreaciate the fast answer, had no idea about the TWS "subversion" allthough i assumed it to be TWS + that radar mode that anticipates / predictes hostile movement and shows that for other threats that aren´t being locked in the first place.Nice insight about that topic, wish i knew more about it.Thank you :D

Why does the non radar locked pipper have a gyroscope thing, in my vidya game DCS world which is supposed to be realistic modelling its fixed boresight in the 15-C, did the F-15 always have a gyro pipper or was this scrapped like the RAM thing

Any other ways to contact you? There is an upcoming air combat sim for mobile called Gunship IV. Its development team is currently working on making a high-fidelity F-15C. I'm looking for subject matter experts on this aircraft to help make the in-game F-15C as close to reality. If you've only got this comments section, that's fine too.
