I think race control don't like to pass on directions, rather they pass on penalties when teams try to get away with infringements, this was a failure of the team to try and get away with the mistake.

The Chinese market has so much more growth potential for F1 than the Australian market. Zhou getting an F1 seat is much more about the revenue upside than pure talent considerations. The west has been selling itself out for the almighty dollar for quite a while now. Just more business as usual.

It's because he was battling for position, and kept his position unfairly by outbreaking himself by cutting turn 1, if he had given the position back straight away or been told by his team to, there wouldn't have been a penalty. And the 5 seconds is fine, it's just that because he rest of the field was so close he lost so many positions. He had the power to not give the FIA any reason to penalise him and be proactive, however he was not and that is the result.

That was also the case in bahrain this year when verstappen was told to give position back to hamilton. It depends on whether the team asks race control for clarification proactively or not ig. But in this case the incident wasn’t clear bcoz he locked up. It wasn’t intentional.

Just available MotoGP penalty system If you gaining an advantage in last lap, you only get one of these penalty like 3 second penalty or 1 place penalty(Your finish place will be minus one. For example, if you finish third with this penalty, your place would become fourth). Applied this system for gaining advantage only(No 5s penalty)

I agree Daruvala had to yield as he didn't even make the corner he was trying to defend, but I feel like the stewards should be able to just direct drivers to swap positions (where maybe they can't re-take for 30 seconds, one sector, or 1 lap or whatever), or at least engineers should have clear directions on when to tell their drivers to give positions to avoid penalties. The five-second time penalty really is too harsh if there is a finish like this.

It wasn't meant to be finished behind the safety car which bunched the whole field up and made any time penalty a lot worse. Anyone want to get on his many safety cars, virtual safety cars will be used in F1? Why build a high speed Monaco when there should be space for decent run offs and no blind corners. How this track ever passed a safety inspection is a bit scary.
