I live in Honolulu and there is a squadron of them stationed here. They take off every day between 9 and 9:15 every day and around 1:00 . There is a long road that dead ends behind Honolulu international. Taxi way is so close you can almost touch it. By the time they are hugging the runway and hitting probably 300 400 mph they pull back and head vertical just about in front of me. Greatest free show in Hawaii. I have my morning coffee there several days a week.. never gets old.

Anyone notice the UFO climbing on the left side of the screen when the Raptor begins its inverted roll and descent - there is a white “dot” on the left of the screen and it is rising very quickly..... it’s NOT A BALLOON!

J W Dickinson ...... do you mean that the Pilot was one of your kids ????? If so ... that’s fantastic. How unbelievably proud you must be. I’m an ex-RAAF Pilot myself & I remember the few moments that Mum & Dad were witness to my aviation exploits. Hard blooming work + good family = Great success.

James Walley no...I’m one of the proud Lockheed Martin employees who worked on the ATF (now F-22 Raptor) program. I started in Jan ‘88 when we were in the Dem/Val prototype competion with the Northrop/McDonnell Douglas F-23. I was among several bean counters for several departments (Avionics, Fwd Fuselage & Test and Evaluation) and later became a procurement specialist. It was an amazing time to watch the bird go from concept to CAD drawing to foam board mock up with colored rope (for wire harness assy’s) to full size wooden static display to flying prototype to final article. That’s why I call them my babies...I helped birth them. 😁😁😁😁😁

I love it and completely understand where you’re coming from. And please forgive me for assuming that you may be a female employee ...... if not .... I deeply apologize. I just got that vibe. I went to an Air Show at Avalon airport with my family Dad when I was about 7 years old. I still vividly remember walking through the cargo area of that Herc. And as it turned out ... I ended up flying each and every one of those A Model Hercs. Australia was Lockheed’s very first purchaser of their (then) brand new Hercules Aircraft. The RAAF purchased 12 of those aircraft ... the FIRST purchase of Lockheed’s brand new previously untried aeroplane. And what a great success that aircraft was .... and still is. An absolute marvel !!!!!

At least the f22 will be able to counter any china aircraft modeled on the sukoi if china breaches aust airspace. Well if flying at extremes have seen it do cobra maneuver and corkscrew
@MSM55004 жыл бұрын
That's very unlikely scenario. Contemporary wars happen rather in mass media and social networks than on a battlefield. When Raptor flies above Avalon that's a part of that war. Btw Sukhoi's superiority is a myth cause if you have pretty balanced and well organized ground based airborne defence you can clean up you sky from Shukhois quite quick and spread fear among Russian ivans getting them afraid of taking off again. Russian assault on Georgia in 2008 showed that very well.
