What a powerhouse she is, nothing scares her, nothing gets in her way. A couple of weeks ago, she performed an amazing double footed kung fu kick in the dark on the sub adult who landed on the veranda. But instead of jumping straight from the nest, and possible harming the eggs, she flew to attic and then performed the attack. Brains and huge ability in equal measure. What a team M and F are. Plecostomus sold in the aquarium hobby are a problem; they grow to huge sizes and store clerks do not inform customers of this. Next thing you know, you're faced with a three-foot monster.

I used to have a massive one, loved it to bits, but sadly had a power cut while I was away, and I lost 6 or 7 tanks full of tropical fish, oscars, goldfish and cichlids. It was devastating. Love big plecs.

They are also bottom feeders consuming whatever is in the sediment they collect their food in. Their tissue contains a higher concentration of whatever toxins are in the water they live in. This is the same for all cat fish. It's probably fine in limited quantities but I see the eagles eating a lot of these fish. The good thing is, the smaller younger ones the birds eat don't have as much toxins as the bigger older ones that are too big for them to catch.

Back when I had an Aquarium I one of those. The one thing that Plecostomus is good for is they eat algae growing on the sides of the Aquarium.

Wow, Talk about a fresh catch. This video was difficult for me to watch because it hurts my heart to see any animal suffer. I feel terrible for the fish, but all animals need to eat and that I understand fully. So, if they can live it, I can watch it. RIP ACF and happy tummies for the eagle family :)

Tough ugly fish but it appears mom has good sense to remove it until its end. FL has many invasive plant, trees, animal and insect species. F 23 has proven herself to be a great hunter, as well as a new mate for M 15. My question is M 15 had several suitors after Harriet had not come back to the nest. And when that happened I always wondered. How does M 15 choose his new mate When there was other Female suitors around?🫶🎄♥️
