@@scottpinardi4991 It used to ride extremely rough, the slightest bump in the road and your head would almost hit the roof if you sat in the back. The front wasn't that bad but it could give you a good jolt. Now it's a lot smoother and no where near as jolting when you hit a bump and your butt cheeks in the back don't catch air now when hitting a bump. I will say that if you do all four I highly recommend a large sway bar on the rear end for braking in corners. Without them the truck has a huge sway. I'm going to put one on the back and install all Poly in the Sway Bar and Leaf Spring Bushings. I've also heard that if you do a lot of rough off road they don't last but a few years. They are not easy to put in, I had to use come along and large pry bars and tape the washers together to make it easier to install them. I also had to grind them down a little flatter to get them in. It took 8 hours to get the front done and then another 8 to get the back ones in. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

@@scottpinardi4991 You're welcome, just get some BIG Harbor Freight Pry Bars, some jacks that you can raise the truck up with the tires off and a floor jack to raise and lower the pumpkin. I will tell you again it's not easy, at least for me it wasn't but I got it done. Go watch what few videos you can find on the installation. I do the back 1st. To do the front after I got the rear Shackles loose the springs shifted to the drivers side and I had to use a come along to pull it back towards the passenger side. Both sides front and back fought me like heck trying to get the shim washers in. Anyways that's just a little extra on what to expect. Once you get them in, the ride is a lot nicer. 2002 7.3 liter here. Mine is leveled out with gooseneck since I use it on farm and work. Here in the Carolinas the kids do the squat (lift front of truck only) and glass pack mufflers. I don't get it because they are so loud and squatted they are blinding everybody on the road they meet. Really suprised the DOT/local law enforcement allow it. I like the 450 the way you have it. I personally want to buy a new F450/flatbed and put a kelderman stock air ride on it. Alcoas are easy to keep looking good but stock looking. If you want to spend some money and a more custom look, then finding the right wheels can make it stand out.

Reklaw I delivered ingots to a Alcoa plant where they made rims. It's quite the interesting process the see the aluminum go from block to rim

Don't have any major complaints with the V10 (this said with no experience with one) but he chose the V10 over a diesel because in his mind the diesels hadn't been proven yet (the 7.3L was on the market for 5+ years when his truck was built) so he chose a V10 instead that was the first year release for it? He went from not proven to less proven?

Any notable effect on pinion or king pin angles? Considering straight axle Ford's have been reported to have "death wobble" problems already I would at least take measurements.

My question as well. I would be interested in a set of these. Do they offer a zero lift option? I have a 04 powerstroke with 4 inch lift.

Did you notice that this truck had no drive shaft nor u-joints at the steering knuckles?
@josefmerritt1849
@josefmerritt1849 7 жыл бұрын
oldvideodude I did notice the lack of driveshaft. But you have a good eye. There defiantly isn't any axle shafts in that front end. I guess he wouldn't have to worry about pinion angles then😂

oldvideodude I didn't notice the missing drivetrain, so pinion angle isn't a concern and being a rear shackle it would increase caster which is an improvement for self straightening up to a point. 6° is probably as much as you want.

Why not put the sulastic brackets on the front of the springs as well as the rear? Wouldn’t that help that much more?

Besides the front shackles is that the only thing you have on the suspension that is lifting the truck? It looks pretty high

I’m not a diesel fan so don’t say ALL your fans are lol I also don’t care for the look of lifted trucks but it may be a midwestern woman thing. Let’s just say it would be the first guy on the block I’d like to get to know lol
