F4LESS ROLLERS - 04/22/2024 Super windy day until the late evening... mass fly my hens

Mass flying my hen kits as today was too windy to fly during the day. Conditioning all the birds to be ready to be flown. Saw some very good spinners today.

Thank you. My birds are still fat and not conditioned. This year, weather has just been so hard to gauage. And it's been super windy it's been hard to train any birds much. But u sure can not want to see these birds back in flying condition and roll fit.

Once they are in better flying condition I think they will be better in frequency. For now, I'm just trying to make sure they fly time. The 2023's were doing very good before I tossed out the older hens. With light going down soon, I just wanted to make sure they get conditioning in. Fingers cross, by next week I can start getting them on performance feed and really go through them.

Thank you. To me, they are still very boring and way out of shape. I'm use to more action then this. This is what I consider "stiff!" I hope they will get back into flying condition soon so they can be more enjoyable in the air. Flying stiff bores me, but since comp is close I have to keep track to make sure they are flying well together. I can't wait til every fly, makes me regret not watching them. Hopefully soon.

@effortlessrollersloft9659 Hey, I can't wait to see your birds when they reach tip-top condition. Note: I'm not a competition guy but I love flying rollers wishing to add a better breed to my mix cause I'm not sure how good my rollers are, but I believe I may have a few good ones that I'm currently working with trying to get a much better roll. I have a few deep ones and some that are constant. Wish to finally add a better breed to my mix.

@loupigeonstimeflies8150 in this hobby/ sport you will be torn between depth and speed. My theory is that style is the most important. If you can pick the right style and don't get distracted with speed and depth... you'll have some very high quality performers even if they lack both depth and speed. To me, those can always be easy to add in later... but once you lose the style, it'll take you a lot longer to perfect that then any of the other two. When I put a bird away, it isn't about the speed or depth... don't get me wrong, I love both!! But if it lacks the style, I can not forgo to push myself to stock it. I have a great blue bar bald in my kit right now... speed and depth she's got it!! When she rolls, she catches my eyes... but her style is not up to my standards... so she will remain a kit bird for life.... and I really hope she would improve

@effortlessrollersloft9659 Appreciate you sharing your preference explaining the roll. Is it possible for you to pinpoint a bird that's performing the style that you want to see in the bird. That would give viewers a better idea of what style looks like. I have birds with really good styles when rolling but they are not deep when rolling, But when they roll it's perfectly controlled, not slopy.

@effortlessrollersloft9659 I'm actually away on vacation wich is why I haven't put up any bird videos. I should be back home this Friday afternoon. I sure a bunch of youngsters are too big to band. The guy whom I left to feed them will only feed and water not band up. We will see when I return. Can't wait to fly them young rollers again. See how the do final since the cooper's hawk is definitely gone by now. Just have to watch out for the falcons.

In this hobby, it's ever changing. You can never learn enough. One year, you think you've got it figured out, and the next year it could be nothing but failures. That's why the roller hobby is one of the toughest pigeon hobby. Only thing that can be proven is in the sky only. Those two guys I've yet to meet. One day I sure hope to meet them. Gotta wait for the kiddos to age some more before I can get some free time to travel. Only advice I can give you is, get out there and visit as much as you can. Don't go with too many families and try to aim for families of birds that have been developed for more then 8 years. Crosses will be hard to understand when you need from them... that'll save you a lot of time and money.

If I could have you comment in the right video, that would be the best bet to keep you in the drawing. Look for the date of 04/21/2024 video. It's going to be too much work to go through all the videos and pick all interested parties from random videos i make from here on.
