I was super busy. I was hoping to have time to visit a few guys, but it was all work. Next time, I'll have to Mahe sure to have more time for play. Family is doing good, everyone is back to playfulness. Birds on the other hand, are starting to do better. Took a few hard hits losing a few really good breeders. But I should bounce back if I don't lose anymore.

The lime team was half given back. My buddy didn't want all of them back so I still have a handful of them. They will remain kit birds for life, as I don't have any intentions to cross out or bring them into my family. Overall, they were a fun family of birds to fly. They had great fly pattern and good rolls.

I came in 5th or 6th? Only had 2 qualifiers. Very heavy winds that we flew in. Overall, I was very happy with my birds and how they handled the wind.

@@loupigeonstimeflies8150 downfall was that I put my cock kit up on the wrong day. I should've trusted my gut and put them up on Thursday. The guys who flew Friday through Saturday had 20-25 mph wind... Sunday and Monday were calm again. So that hurt a lot of kits.

@loupigeonstimeflies8150 yes, it was a hard pill to swallow. But at the end of the day, we all put up our birds and we all took our chances. What sucks was, I had left 4 days before the fly to help my family out of state, and returning back, my birds got sick. Finally, after flying the Preliminary Fly, I took some of my young birds to a lab to get tested and they came back with a virus. So, now I'm fighting to keep my birds healthy and hopefully not a too heavy of a loss... time will tell.

We will see how they do... hopefully the wind isn't too harsh and the rain don't come beating them down... fingers cross.

Each kit box has 20 box perches. With the top exposed, I can fit about 24 comfortably.

My kit boxes are 4' in the front x 5 ' in the back x 44" deep (you can go deeper if you like, my arms are shorter and can only reach in far enough to catch birds comfortably) x 32" wide. 8' wide is each 3 section. If I had the space to, I'd love to just have each kit box 4' wide as well. Just couldn't find myself to reframe the loft again.

514 was pensoms bird that produce for him. For me, mines is 511 that got the perfect roll for myself, and she's been producing some very nice Youngs for myself.

@loupigeonstimeflies8150 they aren't anywhere near what the top fliers are at yet. I'm still building up my teams as we speak, and it's going to take some work to get there... but all in all, the young birds are doing well, and I like what they are doing. They are reacting well to feed, and they are starting to mimick big breaks. This family of birds, when they are young and you get them on performance feed, they will Mimick breaks for 2 weeks and then they get real good with chemistry and clean up the roll. That's usually when things get more enjoyable. But let's see if I can get them ready in time for comp?? Weather has been really hard to put up birds for enjoyment, blowing birds all over the sky, especially the deeper spinning birds.

Thank you. To me, they are still very boring and way out of shape. I'm use to more action then this. This is what I consider "stiff!" I hope they will get back into flying condition soon so they can be more enjoyable in the air. Flying stiff bores me, but since comp is close I have to keep track to make sure they are flying well together. I can't wait til every fly, makes me regret not watching them. Hopefully soon.

Note: I'm not a competition guy but I love flying rollers wishing to add a better breed to my mix cause I'm not sure how good my rollers are, but I believe I may have a few good ones that I'm currently working with trying to get a much better roll. I have a few deep ones and some that are constant. Wish to finally add a better breed to my mix.

@loupigeonstimeflies8150 in this hobby/ sport you will be torn between depth and speed. My theory is that style is the most important. If you can pick the right style and don't get distracted with speed and depth... you'll have some very high quality performers even if they lack both depth and speed. To me, those can always be easy to add in later... but once you lose the style, it'll take you a lot longer to perfect that then any of the other two. When I put a bird away, it isn't about the speed or depth... don't get me wrong, I love both!! But if it lacks the style, I can not forgo to push myself to stock it. I have a great blue bar bald in my kit right now... speed and depth she's got it!! When she rolls, she catches my eyes... but her style is not up to my standards... so she will remain a kit bird for life.... and I really hope she would improve

@effortlessrollersloft9659 Appreciate you sharing your preference explaining the roll. Is it possible for you to pinpoint a bird that's performing the style that you want to see in the bird. That would give viewers a better idea of what style looks like. I have birds with really good styles when rolling but they are not deep when rolling, But when they roll it's perfectly controlled, not slopy.

@effortlessrollersloft9659 I'm actually away on vacation wich is why I haven't put up any bird videos. I should be back home this Friday afternoon. I sure a bunch of youngsters are too big to band. The guy whom I left to feed them will only feed and water not band up. We will see when I return. Can't wait to fly them young rollers again. See how the do final since the cooper's hawk is definitely gone by now. Just have to watch out for the falcons.

If I could have you comment in the right video, that would be the best bet to keep you in the drawing. Look for the date of 04/21/2024 video. It's going to be too much work to go through all the videos and pick all interested parties from random videos i make from here on. In this hobby, it's ever changing. You can never learn enough. One year, you think you've got it figured out, and the next year it could be nothing but failures. That's why the roller hobby is one of the toughest pigeon hobby. Only thing that can be proven is in the sky only. Those two guys I've yet to meet. One day I sure hope to meet them. Gotta wait for the kiddos to age some more before I can get some free time to travel. Only advice I can give you is, get out there and visit as much as you can. Don't go with too many families and try to aim for families of birds that have been developed for more then 8 years. Crosses will be hard to understand when you need from them... that'll save you a lot of time and money.

Once they are in better flying condition I think they will be better in frequency. For now, I'm just trying to make sure they fly time. The 2023's were doing very good before I tossed out the older hens. With light going down soon, I just wanted to make sure they get conditioning in. Fingers cross, by next week I can start getting them on performance feed and really go through them.

I use to give out kits of yb. But no one really cared for them or took them seriously, because they were free, so I stopped. I gave out birds that I didn't want to, but because space was limited I had to. When ppl get birds for free they just don't value it much so I stopped giving out birds for a long time. I never really sold birds as I don't think many would even care to invest time in them. Here's the thing about birds in my opinion. When I buy or take some birds from someone, I'm curious how to feed and train as closely as how the original owner trained. I don't wanna waste time guessing...I like things easy as I want to see results. But most times, guys get your birds and nothing. Who knows what ever became of them... so for a long time, I had no interest to giving or selling. Best to just focus on myself and what I can do to maintain and move my birds forward. Less drama & less stress. I do enjoy helping when I can, but the roller breed is a very complex breed... one thing that works for me, may not for the next.

@effortlessrollersloft9659 I hear you, You once messaged me about how you looked out and loan birds to a guy that never returned your birds I remember, why cause the same thing happened to me. But the birds were not roller they were a pair of beautiful black homers, but again that is really nice of you cause birds are expensive. Especially when your looking for a type of birds. Feed has gotten pretty expensive too. So it cost. Hey thumbs 👍 to you.

Birds laid second round and didn't want to toss em. I was trying to separate them so I can start my havoc birds. So only had like 6 or 7 hens left that laid before I got them out. These last 12 or 14 eggs will be too young to train with the first round. So figure, I might as well bless someone who wants to try em out.
