What an amazing match. Swerve looked like a true champion this time. The storytelling in the end where Hidden Blade had no more effect, and Swerve patting him on the head like "nice try kid, now it's time to end this." Great storytelling! I still think Danielson/Ospreay was slightly better, but this match was on the same level pretty much.

I guess you could argue that Ospreay subconsciously didn't want to do the Tiger Driver *because* he telegraphed it to Swerve. They were kind of telling the story that these two had each other scouted pretty well and everything was getting countered.

Phenomenal match. My only gripe was the screwdriver spot. As mentioned, it made Will seem schizophrenic. He could’ve thrown the screwdriver to the floor and then grabbed Nana by the shirt. No one believed that Will would strike Nana with the screwdriver. The crowd was energetic, it felt like a true main event form the introductions and both guys had exceptional performances

I feel like you guys are missing what happened between the nana screwdriver spot and the attempted tiger driver. Osprey went to the well several times with a variety of moves, including the stormbreaker. He was using time and energy to do everything EXCEPT the tiger driver. I thought they failed with the finish, Callis should have cost Ospreay the match but it kept going long after Callis was gone. It’s such a simple story, Callis cost Ospreay the match & that leads to a split but no. Obviously he could still blame Callis but too much time past in the match for the loss to be Callis fault.

this was the only good match on the PPV, it told a story, Ospreay made Swerve look like a million dollars, the in ring work was smooth, etc, it was really really good.... the rest of the show was subpar and some matches were embarrasingly bad (Elite vs Scissor Ace or Mox vs Naito)

Too many matches. Tony needs to cut these PPVs down to around 7-8 of the most focal match-ups. And not have them go 20+ minutes plus each. Have perhaps ONE pre-show match, so the crowd stays hot for the actual PPV and through the main event. You don’t want to go as short as WWE’s 5-6 matches. But still, less is more, if done right.

This was just another PHENOMENAL Will Ospreay match, and it elevated Swerve to FINAL BOSS status. I've read and seen debates about who is having the best run as a new champion, Damien Priest, Swerve Strickland, or Cody Rhodes. After this match, I rank them (1) Swerve, (2) Cody, and (3) Damien. Swerve has had the best matches of the three new champs thus far, and I don't see that changing after MiTB and ALL IN.

Cody is definitely having the #1 run, because the whole time Cody has FELT like the #1 TOP guy in the company. But Swerve definitely just had one of the better matches. & Swerve has been putting in serious effort into his look and presentation to come off like a star (despite a lot of bad booking). Damien still needs to play catch up to both.

From the 6 matches I watched on the show, I’d say the only one really worth a watch if you’re short on time, is Swerve vs. Ospreay. Two of the best talents the company has, fighting over the top championship, in a serious competitive match that has been built up for at least a month. You don’t get that entire combination for most matches in AEW.
