F5J contest held about 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas in Sandy Valley. Held on an amazing sod farm, but the location is known for it's high winds. This year was no exception, with winds upwards of 20 mph Saturday afternoon and winds above 15 mph Sunday afternoon.
Challenging conditions to say the least but very fun!
I won the event with my GCM Vertigo F5J models.

My favorite is the low save then the climb back up to speck height especially with a balsa model.

My experience is that anywhere out in the open in Nevada will be blowing 20+ mph by 11 am. It's beautiful rugged country if you can get out into it. I've been up surveying mines in the mountains above this sod farm! That must be Charleston Peak/Mt Charleston in the distance?
