F9f first fpv flights

First few FPV flights with my new Freewing Grumman F9F Cougar.
It was surprising how much drag there is in the open front cockpit windows for good viability and VTX cooling. Some new windows and cooling will be required...... must go faster!

Tom great flights and review. I'm really interested to get this jet. That's and amazing speed difference between having holes in the canopy and not having. A mild stall on the left wing at 24 miles per hour is actually pretty impressive and didn't seem so abrupt that you couldn't recover at lower altitudes or when landing. Great job as always.

landing this model by FPV is actually a lot easier than some of my other models... especially some of my warbird tail draggers!

@tomhuntFPV check out the skyrc gsm-015 speedometer/ altimeter. It can be run on a 1s battery and retrofit with a backlight, also small enough for a dash. I have one in my fpv rv-7 and works great for calculating landing speeds and stall speed

@@JustEnoughRC thanks, I had one of those when it was marketed thru Great planes. though that is a GPS (ground speed) and can be very deceiving flying in any wind. it would be useful on calm days.

Could you make some fpv with a camera underneath but facing the front instead. I would love to see fpv with nothing blocking the view. That would be awesome. Almost like you r doing the flying.
