Hey man I hope you see this message! Ive been dabbling in scale FPV planes for a while now and your comment about yer canopy treatment peaked my interest, what exactly are you using and what is the application process? Ive just been dealing with slightly foggy canopies, and even dabbled in making my own "glass" with overhead projector sheets, but those sheets man...HUGE PAIN haha. thanks man! (subbed!) ( I should also note that Id rather live with a little blur than get rid of the "glass" all together)

Is there anyway to incorporate attitude/altitude /speed to fpv
@tomhuntFPVАй бұрын
Not in my old V1 DJI goggles but the newer Goggles do have OSD or on-screen display that can except input from a flight controller and sensors.

Imagine sitting in an actual VR flight motion controlled sim rig - while flying THIS 😎 physical throttle, flight yoke, flaps, pedals etc.... Quite the hassle to bring it out, power it etc - but we'll see this happen soon.... Perhaps fully built-into a caravan with generator so you can simply drive up to the place and set up?

nice shooting!! I'd love to have a digital FPV setup like yours. Any plans to make a video detailing the parts and setup you run? I have an RC ME262, P38 and F82 Twin Mustang (in-cockpit videos on my page, but no FPV) and dream of flying "from the cockpit". A semi-realistic HOTAS transmitter rig would be the ultimate for that... cheers!
@tomhuntFPV2 ай бұрын
kedelbach. I could do a generic video, but some of my equipment is so old it is no longer available and the tech changes so quickly. I have spent quite a bit of money on some stuff that is not "upgrade-able" so giving links would be next to useless, but let me see what I can cobble together as a generic tutorial. thanks, Tom

@@tomhuntFPV cool! I think it would be a popular video. Most RC pilots dreams of being in the cockpit with high-quality video feed and a head-tracking cam, but getting the right stuff and making it work together is a daunting task.

@@tomhuntFPV last question.. how do you get the cards vista to arm?
@tomhuntFPV2 ай бұрын
@@nemonespider I turn off temperature protection from the goggles and it's always on full power. This is the only way to do it without a flight controller. That is why I have an additional heat sink on top of the VTX. in some models I even put a 12v 30mm fan on top.

Some years ago I was playing with designs for a model bomb for a 1/4 scale Wellington. I came up with, but didn't build a test version of, one in which on hitting the ground a CO2 cartridge for a soda-syphon, would allow the cannister to slide down an internal perforated tube, to hit a static "firing-pin" to puncture the CO2 cartridge, ejecting a load of dust/powder paint from the bomb. A sewing-needle attached by a string to the model, through the bomb would prevent the cartridge from puncturing when still attached to the model, which would be withdrawn as the model bomb fell away. I suspect it might not be safe to drop owing to the weight, but if smaller, lighter CO2 cartridges could be found, it might be viable?

I think the thing that's holding this model back is the poor airfoil on the wing it's very thick and the high point is very far aft. It's also making for some poor stall characteristics
