for equity part dividends reduces retained earnings so why didnt you - divides from it also howcome u didnt add net profit from the current years income statement to the retained earnings?

hey tony my accounting exam is tomorrow. is it better to list ar net here as ar net or would it also be acceptable to do a/r less allowance on the income statement? or is only stating a/r net the only correct way?

In my class, I get the students to do A/R net on the balance sheet (not doing it separate) - I take a mark if they separate it. It can differ from class to class though - so I'd look at any examples from your own class and textbook and follow that!
