I am French too and I must deliver a message. Islamophobia created hatred towards your people, I know it because my family are so scared that they just categorized everyone since we got so much trouble with terrorism, women who aren’t Muslim and are harassed because they are driving, wearing their clothes etc… And there was this incident where muslim mane were killed by an other believer because they were drinking alcohol ? I mean people feel so much insecure in France and because of the origin of most of troublemaker if I could say it this way, people became scared and hated on other. It gives a very bad image of muslim who for most of them are well integrated, really nice polite people. FRANCE is supposed to be a country where you can believe in whatever religion, you can wear whatever you want, the country of freedom. In both way muslim should not get hate and people who don’t believe should not get bad insult either. We choose the way we want to live and no one should impose their religion or their beliefs on anyone. It goes both way and I am sorry sincerely for people who suffer from hatred going both ways. Please do know that not only muslim get hate also Jew, people with no religion, women. France became a country of hate from every one though there is so much nice French people. It is too bad. 😢

@@darrenscott6982 I actually don’t think so. I personally love France even if we have a lot of insecurities, violence, hatred well it is still a very good country, beautiful history, culture, most of the people are nice even if there are still well bad racist judgy people everywhere. As a French who has no religion even if I feel insecure (not because of Muslim but because of people with no education and respect, we forget to mention all the young troublemaker we have from all backgrounds, rich poor, white, black, religion or not, it’s just non educated people with no respect) I like this country. As a mixed person I love to see that much diversity in our country, in my university there is many people of many different origins and it’s cool to talk about it and exchange. Sadly not everyone is this open to other ethnicities, cultures or religions. But it’s everywhere America, England, Germany, Asia and even in Muslim countries, there is not a single place where you won’t find racism somewhere. Maybe not that much for sure but I still hope that things will slowly get better, France is my home after all even with its flaws and its not that good politician 😅🤷

It's not about the world hating the truth. Some people do not accept difference and that women should be free to wear whatever they want. Sadly veiled women get attacked by racists in France, and Iranian women get attacked by their own government for refusing to veil . In both cases , it's not about the truth, it's about people who think that they know better and that women should dress in a certain way that is deemed acceptable in that nation, veiled in Iran , and unveiled in France .

The way that they would never discriminate anyone like this, except for us. The fact that we dress for Allah and be modest for Allah, and they're still mad about it. I don't understand how being modest can cause such commotion, but when people show skin it doesn't matter. I don't understand why we can't just each do our own thing and worry about ourselves rather than others. It would've been much easier for him and you if he kept his thoughts and his actions to himself, but he didn't. Such an old age yet such childish actions. We Muslim women have had enough! Thank you so much for having the courage to post this video and to showcase what we go through. It's the fact that I got some disgusting acts done towards me, and none when there's a man I'm related to. (Maybe try to be a little bit safer next time, because this could've happened to you regardless if there was a man or not, but maybe the situation would've been different since that's what it was for me.) When I would walk alone in France in the morning to get breakfast or to see the sites of the city, I would get harassed verbally by all sorts of people. When my brother and my dad walked around with me, I never even got any side eyes towards me. There was a man who tried to follow me at the store and kept making gestures from far away, but once he saw my dad he ran away. May Allah protect you at all times.

French is a Catholic/Christian-centered country, how can it be oppressing Islam? If you go to a Muslim country, then Christians in those countries can say the same thing, right? At least in France, Muslims can have Mosques. Can't say the same for Christians in Muslim countries.
@Koko14292
@Koko14292 4 ай бұрын
@faa1412 France is a secular country. The percentage of Catholics is way lower than that of agnostics and atheists. It's historically Catholic but no longer socially or politically Catholic. And yes, it has mosques , it has tv shows that celebrate Ramadan, it has one of the largest Muslim communities in Europe, and many French people are very tolerant towards religious differences. The fact that racism exists doesn't mean that the country is oppressing Islam. Its secularism is based on the idea that religions could oppress people, and thus, they should be protected. It protects people from religions by establishing a secular public sphere and secular governance, because they were oppressed by the Catholic Church in the past.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that situation but alhamdulillah Allah’s plan is best and now the world has another perspective on Islamophobia in France. I’ve been fortunate to not have received much hate on end here in Alabama in the states, but I’ve had one scary encounter as I was taking a walk with my children. A man decided to lean all the way out of his car window to stare at me, went around the block and sped past me again blowing his horn. It was scary enough that I removed my headscarf and went home immediately (I’m a recent revert and my confidence took a hard hit but alhamdulillah I wear my head scarf almost 100% now)

Or is the hatred and or prejudice only understandable when the perpetrator is of white European descent? That being said, I believe everyone should be held to the same societal standards regardless of their race, gender, religious beliefs or political views.

There's a reason why French people at work, at social events, at school, all stick together and speak their own language even if they're not in France. They have a hive/gang mentality. At every company I've worked at, my French coworkers would have lunch, drinks and hang out only with themselves and ignore everyone else. That's not to say they won't talk to you, but they treat you as if you're an outsider. Recently, a new guy who isn't French came into the office and he only started learning the language and now all of a sudden they think he's one of them too.

Advice to sisters : take pictures of offenders, Note down height, age, clothing, ethnicity and language they spoke etc Make video, Preserve evidence ie any spit or offenders items or if they come in contact with you or your clothing, just bag them, Look around if there are any witnesses, ask if they can help, Look around if someone was recording or taking pictures by chance, ask if you can have the footage or pics, Look around if there are any cameras etc, ask them to preserve the evidence, Note down, time, day, place etc PRESENT ALL THIS TO THE POLICE. I realise its a difficult time but be clear and assertive. Its a criminal offence to assault someone. So know your words and terms when explaining as to what happened.

What he did is obviously wrong without a doubt. The fact of the matter is clothing may not be in French law but adapting to the french is respectful nonetheless. I've been to the middle east a number of times and everytime I go I dress in their attire. This isn't in their laws either but the people their are much more respectful and welcoming when you respect them and appreciate their culture. I don't see why this is such a difficult thing to do. Also France is a secular country and draping you're religion over yourself in public spaces is not particularly appropriate and no other religion does this. It is especially inappropriate when the garments being worn are rooted in mysoginy.

@@DanielSmith-x5v even so, a head covering / scarf isnt inherently a religious garment. Yes it has been adopted by some religions (e.g catholics, orthodox, Jews) but it has existed for thousands of years before that. Even if France women would cover their heads. Frances *cultural* motto is : "Liberté, égalité, fraternité" Which includes freedom to dress how you wish. So she is respecting their cultural Norms. She is literally just existing, she wasn't preaching on the streets, she wasn't harassing people for being non religious. She was just being and that man got so offended he had to act like a savage.

The way he acted was straight out wrong. Regardless while the head scarf may be allowed under freedom of expression in France and religious freedom it violates other rights. For example the scarf was created to cover women so men could control their urges. It treats women like objects controlled by men. This violates equality such as gender equality and freedom. Why would we allow people to wear something that representa a violation to all of our core values? This is the objective meaning of the scarf found in Islamic texts through history and the way it is still used in contemporary middle east.

Wow, I'm so sorry on behalf of that jerk. What a shameful behavior. My Chinese friend went to Paris and she said the people over there were friendly, but maybe not that person, and maybe not to everyone. I invite you to visit my lovely country of Saudi Arabia or any Arab country for that matter, I assure you nothing of that sort will ever happen. I went to Morocco last week and the people were so generous to me.
