Apparently there was an unscreened episode which involved a Mysteron plot to replicate a cloudbase laundry worker and get them to wash all the Captains uniforms together on a hot wash!

I recall one of the comics mentioning Lieutenants Peach and Purple. I think there was some sort of comics feature that mentioned a whole lot of other Captains - the only one I can remember was Captain Olive. I was always curious, because there was another comic feature that claimed there were ten captains, but IIRC only eight ever appeared on TV.

Lieutenants Sepia and Gold appear in the comic strip "President Juma Will Die" from the '93 official annual. Agents on Cloudbase codenamed Yellow and Purple were created in the 'Big Ben Strikes Again' script but were cut.

I think that Captain Vermillion, Captain Crimson and Captain Viridian would be good, strong, names. They are also useful colour descriptions: orangish red, bluish red and bluish green.

There's either a Captain or Lieutenant Sepia in one of the TV21 comic strips - he gets Mysteronised - and I also seem to remember some of the schematics of various pieces of proposed new Spectrum hardware, including pre-New Captain Scarlet Spectrum motorbikes and robot tracker dogs, being used as filler articles in various annuals. The main technician behind them was, I think, a Captain Viridian...

I was wondering if this fab fact would reveal how colonel White managed to get in the centre of the table, without a walkway to squeeze through. Only 2 possibilities he comes up from under the table or he goes in under the table. Need to know the face.

The Colonel White in the Unenterable Desk is actually a clone whose sole purpose is to give briefings from within the confines of the Inescapable Desk. His existence is pain. Alternatively, Colonel White calls in a favour with the Mysterons, who teleport him into the centre of the desk and back again. Why? Even the Mysterons appreciate good interior decorating.

the desk probably lifted to the ceiling allowing White to walk in and sit down, reminds me of the zero-x, it could roll out but no the hangar moved back first, a very complicated pre-launch build process...

Spectrum's Koala Base in Australia was commanded by a Major.

Most of the other personnel were probably civilians like technicians keeping the place going. Plus the series never seemed to show the non-com ranks (like Marines on board navy vessels for example), so Cloudbase probably had at least a few dozen of them too.

The ill-fated Captain Indigo appears in Spectrum Strikes Back before his death by Black, reconstruction and attempt to kill the top personnel etc. It's odd how he achieved the rank of Captain considering he was just a waiter. He has no spectrum uniform but that of a waiter. Scarlet and Blue were the same rank but even they were senior to him. Officers usually have waiters not have the role of them.

Cloudbase was a Mysteron outpost so all the other crew were invisible. How do I know? Well, Colonel White is also the Mysteron voice.....

Wasn't there going to be Captain Yellow and Captain Purple in Big Ben Strikes Again as well? There were a bunch of other ones in Century 21, Lieutenant Gold was one, he died and was brought back as a Mysteron agent. I'm fairly sure there was a Lieutenant Turquoise as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

That argument makes no sense though - Since Lieutenant Sienna would've worn a brown uniform, there is one Field Commander that would have one going spare - i.e. Captain Brown, who was killed off in the pilot episode. His uniform could easily have been given to Lieutenant Sienna.

Can you do a video about other things in the world that were called Captain Scarlet. As a Child in the 90s i would be excited to watch Captain Scarlet. Its was on BBC2. And i would tune in to Captain Scarlet and sometimes it would turn out to be this old movie that is not Gary Anderson's Captain Scarlet. What i remember growing up that movie was show quite a lot. Can be quite annoying when things have the same name.

I thought: 'Why didn't they just re-use Captain Brown's uniform for Captain Sienna?' Then I remembered that they actually blew up the Captain Brown puppet for the pilot episode. Doesn't Captain Violet appear in 'Spectrum Strikes Back?' I seem to remember that a Captain Viridian used to answer readers' letters in TV21 comic, though. Could anyone take the following seriously, if they appeared: Captain Eau-De-Nil; Captain Burnt Umber; Captain Champagne (often found in the bathroom) Captain Puce; Captain Beige? 🤔🤔🤔😆😆😆

The whole thing was a ripoff of the SHIELD helicarrier anyway; nobody referred to it as "Cloudbase" until episode 2, in Ep.1 it was just called "thr Carrier".

Pretty sure Destiny called it Cloudbase after Captain Brown blew up the maximum security building and I think Colonel White ordered Scarlet to return to Cloudbase after dropping off Brown.

No it wasn't. Per Wikipedia: _While developing the series in 1966, Gerry Anderson remembered that during the Battle of Britain the RAF had found it difficult to counter the Luftwaffe due to the delays caused by having to launch fighters from the ground. In his biography, he recalled that "it took [the Spitfire squadron] about 20 minutes to climb high enough to intercept the bombers that were already at 16,000 feet." It was for this reason that Anderson decided to make Spectrum's headquarters a hovering airborne aircraft carrier: "This could launch aircraft that would then climb to 100,000 feet and intercept extraterrestrial invaders within minutes."_ Also, the Helicarrier looked completely different in it's early days compared to now. Back when Captain Scarlet was being developed, it hade a more ...longer appearance, making it look more like a tricked out Zeppelin than the airborne aircraft carrier that Cloudbase is.
