@MrBlazer512 It is not "Boonen we have a problem" but "Balen (Boonen's home town) we have a problem," after the Apollo 13 movie phrase, reporting the explosion of an oxygen tank, "Houston, we have a problem" (in fact "Houston, we've had a problem"). I guess the use of this phrase suggests that Cancellara has been shot of into space.

He was literally accelerating while not pedaling. Watch closely. It also seems clear that he does something with his right hand while not pedaling. Then as soon as he begins to pedal he literaly gained 10kph easily with 2 pedal strokes sitting down. This is not possible. I will die on the hill of Cancellara used a motor. Probably not always but on his wins for the classics he 100% used a motor.

Not that weird, if you reckon his sprints almost were in near saddle position as well as his hill punches just as the roulleur Cance is (was). Moreover there's a bit of stagnation/reluctance in the escape group, so Cance utilizes his 'swing' to bridge.

extremely unnatural. it looks like he's trying to spin his legs faster to keep up with a motor. (of course, IF there was a motor.) but can anyone come up with other race footage that looks as strange as this? in all my years of riding, racing, and watching racing, i've never seen anything that looks like this. i'm not saying it's impossible that he did this all on his own (i'm still a fan of his), but it definitely looks weird, and i'd be 100% happy to eat my words if i could see other attacks that look this strange.

This acceleration by Cancellara and the one on the "Muur" the same year, were both striking examples of an unnatural acceleration without any noticeable change in pedaling, or switching to bigger gear and associated body motion. On both occasions, you could think something miraculous has happened and Cancellara is one of the greatest classical riders of all time, or you could be suspicious about it. I have made my choice.

omg, there is nothing unnatural about his attack...it is the basic cycling tactics to attack right after the attack of another riders. It looks like he is going so much faster only because other riders stopped pedalling, there was definitely no unnatural acceleration. And the moment he got rid of Leukemans was most importantly caused by the motorbike driver, who kind of helped Cancellara by giving him the draft after the corner.
@123huskieman6 жыл бұрын
rehy They all stay at the same cadence (including Cancellara). Same overall cadence = correlating constant speed. There is a motor there, otherwise Cancellara's cadence probably would've changed in some way during his attack. And draft doesn't help as much as you're saying it does in Cancellara's case. Everything about the move is so unnatural. You need to actually watch the video.

There is nothing anyone can say about that pass it was clearly a motor on that TT bike. If you see the video and watch how fast he passes Wiggins doing a 400 watt TT there is no hiding it he was simply using a motor. The Cadence and gears did not change on both riders so why was he going 10km hr faster ( at least by the speed pass on that video) Fabian probably hit 65 km hr passing Wiggins that is simply IDIOTIC and Impossible on that Flat stage TT with no wind to help.
