This WAS our "rebellion" thru music and lots of dancing and a whole lotta fun!!! Fabian didn't have perfect pitch like Elvis, but in his innocent looks and sway, the devil in his eye, he was the cutest sexy innocence, not all drugged out, etc....We 1940 Boomers were the greatest teen era and have the greatest memories of being young with the best of Rock n Roll and we were invincible with the whole world and new opportunities before us.👵😎

All the "experts" made a career out of bashing Fabian, but he was way better than most of today teen "idols"...and had better manners too! (do you hear me Mr. Bieber?).

This is brilliant - Stop thief (okay he comes in late, who cares) is incredible - he was a rocker - he looked fantastic and he was the only rocker to have two guitar solos going at the same time.

A Rock & Roll Classic song from The Fabulous Fabian as this song came out in 1959
@beatlejim648 жыл бұрын
At this time in March 1959...Elvis was in the army...Buddy Holly had died in the plane crash a month before with Richie Valens and The Big Bopper...Jerry Lewis was on the skids since he married his 13 yr old cousin...Little Richard had turned to religion...etc. This was the time of Fabian...Paul Anka...Frankie Avalon. Rock and Roll as we knew it was fading. It wasn't until 1964 that The Beatles came to the US and changed everything!!!

Also Chuck Berry was publicly outed for being involved with a girl under 18.
@yehudafinkelstein75047 жыл бұрын
Your narrative is kind of lame. Frankie Avalon could actually sing for one, unlike Fabian. And the Beach Boys came out in 1962, establishing Brian Wilson's genius for the American public.

Also, what about the brilliance of people like Roy Orbison or Ray Charles for that matter? Those years ('59-'64) were the peak of their popularity.
@blahblah38047 жыл бұрын
Also Dion and The Belmonts were very popular at that time, They were the best new vocal group of 1959 Dick Clark even said it.

Fabian was rock 'n' roll - couldn't sing a note but who cares - I disagree with the Beatles theory also - they weren't rock 'n' roll - in the UK we had 4 great rock 'n' roll bands in the early 60s - Cliff Richard and the Shadows, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates, Shane Fenton and the Fentones and Vince Taylor and the Playboys - fantastic rock 'n' roll

Met Fabian - and he is a gorgeous man - a bit of a quick temper - but he definitely wins most handsome - by anyone's standard - if you get a chance see "The Golden Boys" w Fabian, Frankie Avalon, and one of the best vocal artists since Bobby Darren - Bobby Riddell - (good man - RIP Cammelie)

For a sixteen year old lad he is smoking hot…. Beiber is a way out of his league…. Fabian can sing in D minus key and does a great job….. those were the days….. all the young girls went wild…. in the 1960's my music idol would always be Bobby Darin though….. Bobby respected Fabian in the business….

I was still only 23 when he performed this. If some people say he can't sing it's because of the rotten sound quality. Last night I watched "Rio Bravo" on TV for the 4th or 5th time and his duet with Dean Martin was great.

Judging by most of the comments here are to do with his looks and his hair etc, it's pretty obvious how he managed to sell to a certain group of teenage girls for a short time. More comments on his appearance than his voice, this alone explains how easy it is to extract money from teenager's, it's still happening today. His records hardly sold in the UK because hardly anyone over here knew what he looked like, that alone speaks volumes. We didn't know what Ricky Nelson looked like either, the ozzie and Harriet tv show was never shown over here, yet he had plenty of big hits
