Fable isn’t “woke” it’s literally playing almost the EXACT same with the relationships from fable 2, only difference would be introduction of trans, which is just a modern PROGRESSION of og fable 3

There’s no way character customization wont be a thing. Male, female, i dont care. I’ve played plenty of games as either and still had fun. If we look back at fable 1 protags, neither gender were exactly “attractive”, and it didn’t affect my ability to enjoy it. Besides, I’ll mostly be starting at their back as the character moves, or play in 1st person pov. I just want a good story and combat mechanics, interesting spells and or course, plenty of chickens to kick. 🐓

⁠​⁠​⁠@@Majorpain32677this is the type of attitude that caused inequality between women and men back in the day lmao. just because a majority of the dev studio and playerbase is male doesnt mean every protagonist has to be male. it has nothing to do with "woke crap" or "feminist and lesbian man haters", its just a female protagonist. if it bothers you so much to play as a female character in a video game that you have to complain about it online, then just dont play the game. it really only makes sense to complain about something like this for the sake of not having the ability to choose the gender of your protagonist in a fable game, not because you consider having a female main character a result of feminism 🤣🤣

@@gorknmork6997 one, i never said anything against having the equal choice. like i said his comment wouldve made sense had he complained about not having the *option* between male or female, but instead he complained about playing a female character and claimed it was a result of feminism (somehow). two, theres nothing wrong with playing to your audience either, as a LARGE MAJORITY of games feature male protagonists, but that wasnt the point i was trying to argue against. the comment i replied to framed it as "if the audience is majority male, then the protagonist of the game HAS TO BE male" and i disagreed.

The longer it takes the more i really think it's gonna be another crackdown situation, where it took so long and just never comes together like it should and just gets pushed out to die. I still own the first 3 og fable games 4 if you count lost chapters, so i really want it to be good but i just have that gut feeling. I really hope they changed their minds and let us make our own char or at least be able to pick like 2/3 had.

I hope to god this isnt some cheap cash grab and theirs actual effort put in this. It will hurt my heart so much if they just make it a hot mess. (also hoping it isnt just a female lead I love how the second and 3rd one interacted with each other and their own games depending on which gender you played as, like in 3 walter talks about how the king left behind the guild seal for you, but if you played on the same console as a the second game but as a female, he'll say the "queen" left behind the guild seal for you)

I have a feeling that getting STI's in a video game in todays society will be scrapped from the to-do list I'd hope not. I also need this to be a co-op game like come on fable 2-3 were they coined the two player co-op experience in my opinion😢

I have a good feeling about this game. I enjoyed both Fable and Fable 2 dearly. I beat part 2 multiple times, and it definitely was my favorite. As an enthusiast and a realist, I am approaching this game as the final addition to its franchise. Let's be honest; the brain rot generation can't appreciate a game like this, and this game will be an utter failure if it caters to anyone but veteran players and faithful supporters of the franchise who were searching "WEN FABLE 4" for the last 8-9 years. They tried to cater to a newer generation once with the Xbox Kinect, and although both the game and system were utter failures, there are still OG players waiting for a proper redemption. IMO, as long as Fable 4 is better than Fable 3 with the bar and expectation set to an unachievable standard of Fable and Fable 2, I will be genuinely happy.

Most likely You are not. People who worked on F1 to F3 are long gone and not being a part of this one. Lionhead shut down years ago (almost decade), this is just a cash grab. It's not even looking like Fable, nor even trying to look like it.

@@jbird3511 Then it's not Fable, but a game that will try to play on people nostalgia and simply take some cash out of people pockets to fool them to think it's "Fable game". Certain tittles have certain type of art style or art design, sometimes even gameplay or genre e.g Devil May Cry, Baldurs Gate etc. Fable always had this "fablish" art style with bigger feet, hands etc. It was done on purpose. Believe me, if out of nowhere a fantasy game would pop out with this type of design, people wouldn't need to know the tittle to simply know it's a fable. That's why it's so important for some game series to find it's originality in it.

I say we don't know, but I am almost hundred percent confident we won't be able to do it this time too. But I will be very happy to be wrong about it.

I dreamt that the fable 4 trailer was filled with balverines and bandits, hobbes, wasps and the undead. Vast, endless landscapes to explore, both forests and mountains, rivers and water falls, both light and dark. A young hero, rescued, given the option to choose between good or evil. And just when i was drawn in by the mystery of this new fable game and trailer, not having a clue of what to expect, a familiar voice said "hero, your will energy is low, watch that". What a great dream that was, but im afraid thats all itll ever be.

I cannot express how unmoved I am by the people whining at the gender of the protagonist. Firstly, you can probably customize your character but even if you can't - no one complained when we only got to play as that weird looking man in the first game that we all remember so fondly. For me, gaming is about immersing yourself as the protagonist, and I’m not a woman, so I can’t enjoy a game as much. back then, they were limited by technology. Choosing gender has been a standard in fable games since fable 2. Personally, I wish you could play as a woman in the first game, but the limitations at the time would have made that difficult. No excuse now.
