Paul, if you are going to use that truck as a people mover, you should look into adding the back half of a suburban instead of making it a short bed. A 6 door suburban would definitely stand out in a crowd.

Honestly a Suburban is a better people mover. More leg room in the back seat and without the 3rd seat there is plenty of room for gear and it will stay protected. Also boo on short bedding it. Long live the long bed!!

Don’t shortbed it! You ruin the proportions - use a Suburban as people mover, you got plenty on your little junk yard down the road…

Easy swap except for the roof stepping up... depending on where you cut the crewclub cab in the rear door. Burbs had 22 body mounts... they sure are very capable offroad rigs though! Great weight transfer ect.

The vertical creeper was instantly the best part of this video! I'm a 13 year incomplete-paraplegic. Paralyzed from knee down but I can stand assisted but when you need both of your hands to work I have to lean against the core support of the engine bay with my chest and after a few hours my chest becomes extremely red and bruised. That lasts for a few days after as well. This is going to make working on the vehicles wayyyyyyyyyy more comfortable! O M G

About 10 years ago, someone came and scrapped a truck that was almost identical just because he couldn't get it to run. Unfortunately, our employee policy was we couldnt buy anything once it was in the junkyard parking lot. I was absolutely in awe that someone would scrap such an amazing truck. Though, we had a lot more rare and pristine things pass through...

The catalyst in the converter is round pellets. If you remove the plug on the bottom side of the catalytic converter. The off out. That was G.M. First design. If it got clocked. You removed the pellets, clean them and or replaced them. You could’ve removed them to unclog the exhaust. 😊

When I was able to work, I had a Cadillac Sedan DeVill come into the shop for an oil and filter change and a safety inspection. Talking to the owner he said that the passenger floor gets really hot, so we got inside and lifted it on the hoist like yours, and the catalytic converter was bright red 🔥 HOT! So hot that we sprayed it with the hose for 10 minutes before it cooled down enough to cut it off. This was in 1990, and the replacement converter cost just under $700 shop cost. Customer cost would have been $1100, but he was a disabled vet and we let him buy the converter himself and we only charged him for the installation and oil change. That converter was just about plugged shut.
