We are excited to host this event! We know we picked the right teams to bring along. The skis have made it safely to our shop and have even had a good scrubbing to get shiny clean. I grew up close to about midway of your route and the only thing I can say is "Be Careful". By the time the water goes through the Dakota's, Nebraska and Iowa it earns its nickname as the Big Muddy and its undercurrent can be bad with whirlpools and floating debris. No one I knew swam or skied in that area but there are some monster catfish. Keep an eye on the rainfall in the upstream states but June should be to bad other than the bugs. Lol.....Good Luck.

My wife used to work with a couple of guys who raised money for an orphanage in the Philippines by jet skiing from Miami Florida to Bimini. This is about 55 miles over open ocean. They would get pledges for how far and how fast they could go with bonus points for completing the run. They would come back after four days so sore they could barely move and sunburned beyond belief (especially for two doctors) but really excited and come next year they would be ready to go around again. So be careful, this could get to be a tradition.

I'm from Champaign IL, which is 3 hours from St. Louis. By June the water level will have settled down, but as Merlin said the mosquitoes will be out in force. I don't know how much you have to deal with them in your neck of the woods, but they can get bad over here. The only proven repellents are the ones with Deet in them. Don't fall for any of these hippy brands or you will regret it. Can't wait to see how this goes!

For some reason I’ve always been interested in long distance jet ski adventures.(even though I’ve never ridden one). It would be hard to understate how excited I am to see a fab rats and Merlin collaborating on such an adventure.

Started as 320 miles and at the end it was 360 miles! Hilarious! BTW, it's listed as 340 miles, a race to paddle (kayak, canoe) is held every year. Last year's winners did it in just over 38 hours.

Gentlemen, I have some experience riding a vintage jet ski long distance. (at age 50) I took a one day trip on a 1997 Seadoo XP from Bullfrog Marina to Dangling Rope Marina on Lake Powell - a distance of approximately 50 miles. It beat the crap out of me! I highly recommend wearing a back support brace and knee braces. Over that distance you will be alternating between sitting and standing, it was the best experience, but truly a physical challenge. I am sure you will make it the whole way! Looking forward to the video’s to come

Although the weather in June may be nicer then, keep in mind that the water you're going to be on will be just out of Montana. The snowmelt doesn't get much warmer before it hits Kansas City.

Waverly Missouri, my hometown, population 800, is 1/4 way between Kansas City and St. Louis on the Missouri river. There is an annual canoe race along the river. The Missouri River 340, from Kansas City to St. Louis (technically, St. Charles) is something of a Wild West race, it takes about 4 days of paddling. The canoes have to finish in 88 hours. Some people paddle non-stop. The water level and current speed are determined partially by the amount of water released by the upstream dams. If it's a wet spring the river is fast. You will need some chase boats to assist you.

If you can't climb back on, use the trick my sister used 30 years ago when she was out fishing and came on an old fellow fisherman who had fallen out of his boat. Both were too old to get him back in the boat, so she tied him to the side of her boat and towed him to shallow water then towed his boat to him. Take note, Hunter, those old folks might have to towed!

We have people who kayak and jet ski camp while hauling rafts on Big Miss, Missouri and Illinois all summer long and some live full time up and down the river with the seasons.😎👍And yes there are BULL SHARKS in all three just don't splash around like a dummy and you'll be fine.

In the summer we camp and boat on the Missouri River weekly. We love the river because it is all we have around Fort Calhoun/ Omaha Nebraska . You guys will have a blast everyone on the river are there to have fun and always willing to help someone in need! Watch out for the flying carp !!! Be safe and have fun!!

Now that the law is in place I do not get black oil spots on my legs. Especially at Boulder Beach.

I live on the northeast edge of K.C. in Liberty Mo. From west to east is K.C. Ks. K.C. Mo., North Kansas City, Kansas City north that is part of K.C. it is north of the Missouri river. We have interstates and hwys in K.C. Ks. and K.C. Mo with the same number and name, so you have to say Ks. side or Mo. side. Kansas city Mo. surrounds a few smaller cities like an ameba. The river is not that fast but it has a strong undertow, and it is called the big muddy for a reason. Before it was channeled they would say it was a mile wide and a foot deep. June can be stormy, and the humidity is high. Hope I have a chance to see you all when you get here.

This trip sounds like fun. Take a boat along. It can carry the tools, fuel, food and other supplies, fetch parts and be used as a floating dock. Maybe you should sell tickets for the ride-a-long. I can see it now...4,500 jet skis filling up the Missouri River between KC and St. Louis. Hmm, maybe you should keep the date a secret.

Being from Missouri I would highly recommend that you not drink the water straight from the river. Also the undertow is really bad in some areas. Pay close attention to any barges you may encounter the water gets extremely rough around them. No matter what keep your life jackets on at all times.

Here in Wisconsin, a number of us do some long distance riding on 50 year old snowmobiles. I am the oldest at 64, most are 40s and 50s, we have a great time. We spend all summer re-building our junk, so we can go ride the old stuff a week or two in the winter. We have been doing this for 15 years, and we have seemingly acclimated to it. I imagine you guys will be beat at the end, but it will be a great adventure.

When you get close to Jefferson City, MO, at Mile Marker 172, you will encounter Cooper's Landing on the left bank. Best food, cold beer, fuel and riverside music in the state. Stop in, they're busiest on the weekend but anchor a real nest of River Rats, many of whom like Fab Rats and their friends. Mark Twain commented about the Missouri River-" Too thick to navigate and too thin to cultivate".

We live in Alton Illinois. Just across the Mississippi river from Saint Louis. I will definitely buy raffle tickets. We had a Yamaha 1200 that our son hit a log on the river and sank it. I was a boat mechanic for 15 years. Worked on a lot of these. Our kids went to college over in Kansas. Yes the flying; carp is REAL. I cross the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers everyday on my way to work.

Going to be an epic voyage. I hope you have enough camera batteries so we don't miss any of the adventure. Hopefully Hunters surgery is healed completely and the bumps don't hurt him. Hope for no wind so the water will be smoother. I skied on the Ohio river twice and it was choppy both times enough to wear my knees out pretty quick. Although the waves from the barges were fun to jump. A thought comes to mind of years past, when driving old cheap junker cars, if it breaks down along the road just sign the title and leave it on the dash.

I recommend a taking a few kayak water pumps and pain killers ( put a big car wash sponge down low in the hull to soak up the water that gets in ) .The old time sailors used buckets and rum , but whatever. And a re-fuller for petrol ,oil , water and snacks for Hunter .At the finish line there will be. All seven skis will finish 2 with trailers and skis 2 being towed.

The chance of all of those ski's making the whole trip is about the same as you hitting the lottery 3 times in the same year! They are just like sleds, the rule of thumb is bring 3 of them if you want to be able to ride for the weekend, and you will still be working on all of them the whole weekend!
