I have to say the patina finish on the Ratback is fine! probably the best I've ever seen. When you get the bed to roll, you could fabricate a 2 or 3 foot extension to the bed for the longer loads that snaps in place with some hooks and slots. This way you can have the long bed when you need it, but keep the shorter length that you were looking for.

Diesel engines are fairly cold blooded. If you watch class 8 tractors running across MT, ND, MN, WI, etc .... they all run winter fronts (radiator covers) during the cold weather (below 0F), so they can stay warm. These covers have flaps, so you can close (or open) as needed.

Hey PAUL, I’m not gonna know at all, but I come from many years of towing experience back when they first started building. They used to build the first that really short days so anytime you load something with the heavy weight in the back it always made it hard to handle. I would suggest with your short wheelbase you try and always load heavy in the front. It’s a cool truck.

Great work guys, you'll learn about those diesels. Next time leave the rollback running while you're loading up your tow vehicle. Two you may have to put some cardboard in front of the radiator to create more heat. But you'll have to be careful and watch your temperature gauge you may have to reduce the size of the cardboard to make sure your engine stays cool but creates more heat in the cab. But keep up the great work and you will learn about those diesels... 👍
