R.I.P. Jenni, if the kids on the bikes meant or didn't mean to destroy the bench, it's indicative of the kids that they didn't have the Respect to appreciate the memorial or the beauty around them. Here in Scotland, on the hills and mountains we've got a saying, "Take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints!" It's all down to Respect. I've Respect for Paul and Michelle for being part of the community and voluntarily helping when asked, brilliant example of community and family.

This video is bittersweet for me, because I lost a friend who was doing a similar thing. It was a year ago, and he was riding dirt bikes with his family, and he was going down a steep trail, lost balance, went over, hit his head, and died. I also made a memorial for him, but it was only made of small rock in an outline of his initials. It's gotten weathered away.

My instinct is to be so angry at other people's ignorance and lack of respect. It's so easy to be angry. It's not easy to find and have compassion, especially in the face of what could easily be so much grief. It is inspiring. It's truly wonderful, and it helps me remember that we don't have to respond immediately with anger. I am honestly and truly grateful to KZbin and you for providing me with that inspiration.
