Very well done instructional video. Your technique is simple and effective. It is helpful you show a finished project and not just the beads. The tassels are darling with the chain, your method is classy.

Thanks for the tutorial, Natasa. ❤️ I've never done a fabric bead before. It's very cute and fairly easy. My mother makes quilts, so I have a virtually unending supply of fabric scraps. You're always a wonderful source of inspiration. 😘🤗

Lovely. Would it be possible to save a step by rolling the fabric scraps around the chain instead of the wooden skewer?
@TreasureBooks3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lolly! I don't think so, as its fiddly and moves around. When I roll onto the wooden skewer I really need to press down hard onto it, to get the fabric to roll properly. Might work with thicker fabric, like upholstery fabric, but I think the wooden skewer gives the hole of the bead a nice 'proper' round shape :) Thanks for watching

Oh my goodness. I thought these would be sooooo hard to make, but you made it look so simple - and beautiful. I’m so excited to do some of these as I have a lot of fabric bits. Thank you thank you thank you.

Hi Natasha, Thank you for the tutorial. You are very generous with your techniques. I just made 10 of these they are so enchanting. I have lots of scrap fabric after making 180 masks. :) I love the look and feel of the chain but I found most of my beads did not have an opening that will accommodate a chain. I used wire and crimp beads and crimp tool. It flows just as nicely and then I get to use some of my bead stash. I did enjoy making these.
@TreasureBooks3 жыл бұрын
Wonderful! I probably would have used wire myself if I had some !!

I like making my fabric beads with a core. As you said, using a paper straw makes the holes to thick but I use the inner part of a used up pen. When the ink in my pen finishes, I pull it out of the outside of the pen and use to roll my cloth beads. They are so much smaller than a stray and are stiff enough to keep the fabric rolled tight. You can’t put a chain through them but they are great for stringing with fishing line.
@adventuresphere7036 Жыл бұрын
These are beautiful, never seen them before! I wonder if it would be hard to lay the chain with the skewer before you start making the bead. Might help lessen time trying to thread it later. Can’t wait to try making one and find out!

You don't need a needle. A peice of bent wire works better. In my own opinion. And you can use any widths of thread then

Love the beads! I’ve got lots of chain left over from jewellery that I’ve used the beads from too! I think I’ll use a piece of fine wire to thread through the chain , folded like a hairpin, to pull the chain through the beads though as my eyesight not as good these days!
