Fabricating a 45 ton pintle plate on a vac-truck!

Watch as I design, fabricate, and test a 45 ton pintle hitch on our 2100 Series Vactor. Now we can double up our gear to projects and put the 12.7 Detroit to good use!
We used our Miler Multimatic 255 and Trailblazer 325 for the welding on this project. Our dual shield wire is 71M Lincoln which is my go to for thick weldments like this.

Thanks 👍 Yeah its one inch plate and we burned in all together with Lincoln 71m. Really enjoy how that wire runs in hot and stays put when welding out of position.

Doesn’t that Pintle have the option for the air cushion? Why didn’t you use it

@@2ndMomentumGarage No that unit is a solid mount. I may upgrade to an air unit when I run the air brake lines to the rear though 👍

Great work! Can this be done to add a pintle hitch to a Concrete Mixer Truck chassis?
