The J series is criminally underrated in the Honda world. I did an OBX catback, Megan Racing test pipe, K&N intake and some others bits on a 2003 EX-L 6-6 coupe just like this but in silver about 12-13 years ago. The thing sounded so damn good. The exhaust manifolds and factory J pipe are where the car gets really choked up on the exhaust side if you want to make more power and add a bit of volume. A set of TL-S cams is also a great upgrade, and theres even a factory LSD for these.

Nice vid! 2 KEY things: -Run the car on Premium 93 or 91 octane. Look it up. It's talked about a lot and is known to give these cars more power. It really woke mine up. Especially with mods. Give it a few days to adjust to Premium and re-learn. -Before dynoing, after any new mods drive these cars minimum 2-3 days with some good pulls. These cars respond well to mods but need time to adjust. Probably see nicer torque gains and HP on that dyno graph if you do.
@TheOhsemix5 ай бұрын
The way tuning works is that theirs already an established map for fuel and ignition. If theirs a high octane map it will adjust to those maps but no more. The misconception is that cars learn to use higher octane which is wrong they learn to detect knock and if theirs none present it won’t switch to a higher octane map IF it has one. On a car only made to use regular theirs no benefit without timing map tune which the ECU can’t change on its own. This comes from someone that’s worked with multiple tuning software and platforms and I also have a TSX which supports premium but even that car has shown no gains during testing.
@hexagonosaurus58485 ай бұрын
You know jack shit about cars. Sorry.
@justind96315 ай бұрын
@@TheOhsemixyep this is true only time it’s beneficial to use a higher octane is if you get it tuned specifically on that octane

Does it have a octane sensor/ senses through knock and does it have a map in the ecu? If there is no map, then its a waste of $. Some cars have maps for 87/89-91

I wound up buying my mom's Accord from my dad in 2018 a couple years after her passing. 2007 V6 Sedan Automatic. I drove it for a couple years not modifying it due to the sentimental value. Then I just got the bright idea to put coilovers on it.. Then wheels, bushings, sway bars, front and rear strut bars, intake, full exhaust almost 1 to 1 your setup add high flow primary cats and J-pipe. Absolutely love the car but didn't like the performance limitations of the automatic. So about a month ago I bought another 2006 V6 Accord Sedan 6-speed and have already put it on coilovers and wheels lol. Love these cars and am excited to see what else you have in store. I plan on going turbo also and look forward to seeing how you plumb everything.
