The J series is criminally underrated in the Honda world. I did an OBX catback, Megan Racing test pipe, K&N intake and some others bits on a 2003 EX-L 6-6 coupe just like this but in silver about 12-13 years ago. The thing sounded so damn good. The exhaust manifolds and factory J pipe are where the car gets really choked up on the exhaust side if you want to make more power and add a bit of volume. A set of TL-S cams is also a great upgrade, and theres even a factory LSD for these.

Nice vid! 2 KEY things: -Run the car on Premium 93 or 91 octane. Look it up. It's talked about a lot and is known to give these cars more power. It really woke mine up. Especially with mods. Give it a few days to adjust to Premium and re-learn. -Before dynoing, after any new mods drive these cars minimum 2-3 days with some good pulls. These cars respond well to mods but need time to adjust. Probably see nicer torque gains and HP on that dyno graph if you do.
@TheOhsemix
@TheOhsemix 5 ай бұрын
The way tuning works is that theirs already an established map for fuel and ignition. If theirs a high octane map it will adjust to those maps but no more. The misconception is that cars learn to use higher octane which is wrong they learn to detect knock and if theirs none present it won’t switch to a higher octane map IF it has one. On a car only made to use regular theirs no benefit without timing map tune which the ECU can’t change on its own. This comes from someone that’s worked with multiple tuning software and platforms and I also have a TSX which supports premium but even that car has shown no gains during testing.

I wound up buying my mom's Accord from my dad in 2018 a couple years after her passing. 2007 V6 Sedan Automatic. I drove it for a couple years not modifying it due to the sentimental value. Then I just got the bright idea to put coilovers on it.. Then wheels, bushings, sway bars, front and rear strut bars, intake, full exhaust almost 1 to 1 your setup add high flow primary cats and J-pipe. Absolutely love the car but didn't like the performance limitations of the automatic. So about a month ago I bought another 2006 V6 Accord Sedan 6-speed and have already put it on coilovers and wheels lol. Love these cars and am excited to see what else you have in store. I plan on going turbo also and look forward to seeing how you plumb everything.

No more resonators or anything in between. Has a nice burble at idle, and sounds fantastic when opened up. 2007 Accord EX-L V6 coupe in Nighthawk Black Pearl (like yours). Owned her since new, 260k thus far. Been replacing all the rubber slowly but surely (suspension, engine and transmission mounts), and working on cleaning/replacing all the sensors. She’s gotta take me across the country and back next month, so I don’t want any surprises.

As per normal you did an absolutely amazing job on that exhaust and it sounds great! Keep an eye on those control arm bushings. They're known to go bad with some spirited driving so power adders might just toast em. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Loving the build. I have the 6 speed sedan and it's a great daily. Can't wait to see the turbo section of this build.

Was the key replaced. If im not mistaken, the grey honda keys are for valet. You can lock the truck/gas cap lever with a normal key ( black) key, but cant unlock it with the grey so you can keep valuables in the truck since you can’t put the rear seats down unless you open the trunk. I have an 03 with the k24a4 in it. I can't wait to see what you do with this build so I get some ideas. Thanks for the videos.

You can feel that for sure. Anyone that turns the AC off while accelerating can feel that difference and that’s almost exactly what your gains were

I vote for you to build a 2012 1.5gen 3.0 V6 Ford Fusion next, that car doesn’t get a lot of love and I want more people to get exposed to how great it is, this Accord also reminds me of a smoother sounding version of my Fusion

Sounds great! Im with everyone else though, the tips should be flush or at least not stick out as far. Other than that, great job!!!

can’t wait for the wheels and coils on this car, I’ve always liked the idea of modding an accord coupe since they look like they’d take to mods really well
