All engineers do sketches, it is the translation of the 3D model in their head. Chris is such a systematic worker, from ticking off his cutting list, to the packing plates under the braces on the dozer bed so that the braces are centred on the uprights prior to tack welding. It is a pleasure to watch him work 👍👍(love the recycled envelopes for drawing paper👍😎)

Yes! I noticed those packing plates to centre the braces - brilliant idea and so simple!

Two words for chris engineering genius, I loved his diagram for the rotisserie and I would say what the fella has built will probably be better and stronger than one you would buy off the shelf. Great video and thanks for the upload rob.

"And that children is why you should pay attention to your Trigonometry at school!" I bought a rotisserie 'off the shelf' new last year for £400 for the Mini I am restoring. Well worth the money to me as I am working in a 'not too big' garage. But Chris is giving a Masterclass in basic engineering principles. These skills and the knowledge behind them aren't taught enough at schools like it used to be. When I left school at 16 I became an apprenticed Jig & Toolmaker. 1963!

Absolutely brilliant video Rob! - a true craftsman (and his mate) at work there, this is classic engineering - “no need to buy a new one, I can make one of them with a load of scrap and off cuts” says Chris!!
