Hey Chad, it's been fun watching you progress as a builder. I love how you use basic tools and make it work... and save time ! The 40 Plymouth reminds me of my best friend "Rebel" in Jr high and high school. He was a brilliant mechanic and fabricator. We started rebuilding cars and engines when we were 14. His first build was a 40 Plymouth with a 361 Plymouth engine and 4 speed....many more to follow including a 72 pinto with 351W. We knocked a day off of school and rented a pipe bender from a muffler shop for the day and made a set of headers for it. Sadly he was killed in a motorcycle accident at age 28. So the 40 is a great reminder of him for me.

Its a great idea to hinge the hood, but I was thinking another way that would have been cool is to made slide rails for the hood and fender meeting points so you could slide the hood straight forward and remove it like a dresser drawer.

I hope it's a side hinge because that won't ruin the lines of the body from.any angle as opposed to a typical vertical rear hinged hood. My opinion for what it's worth.
