Loved your video. I myself have one and a quarter inch difference in my legs and I never thought much of it until I hit 51 and now I'm feeling my sciatic nerve because I never had the correct shoe built. I do ask this. What type of glue do you use to adhere the heel together?

Thanks for taking us on this fulfilling journey. What kind of two part rigid foam did you use here? Polyurethane?
@specialopslab86883 жыл бұрын
No problem ☺️ it is a two part pedilen foam from a German company called ottobock. I believe it is similar to the polyurethane foam. The foam only serves to increase the surface area for the cement to adhere to. Some shoes don’t have lattice air pockets and so foam isn’t even necessary in those cases.

I broke my right femur when I was 3, back in 1969. The doctor who set my femur, set it wrong. I was in traction of 8 weeks, in a hospital. As a teen, the lean to the right started. All of my weight has been going to my right side, for a good portion of my life. I'm 58 now and it's brought on some hardcore osteoarthritis, in the right ankle. I'm wondering if this kind of shoe, will help.

Im a cobbler and doing same job in Sarasota. I have 2 questions. Why are you put epoxy and punch holes? Just curious? Also well done and neat job!!
@specialopslab8688 Жыл бұрын
The punch holes are done to reduce weight with a big shoe raise like this one. I do not drill holes if the raise is less then 1.5”. The “epoxy” is actually superglue which I like using for the first layer that contacts the shoe. It fills any imperfections and also acts as a safety measure to prevent the raise from ripping away from the shoe (most likely spot where it will rip away from)

I live in Wisconsin and just sent my shoes to American Heeler for lift. They charge $85-110 for each shoe, depending on what height is needed. Honeycomb is more expensive, roughly $15 for each shoe.

You can hollow out parts of the foam to make bouncy cushiony air pockets. Just remember to add a layer over them so that the air will be sealed inside and remain lightweight.
