Today we're going to fabricate a new drip rail molding out of round rod on the 1948 Pontiac coupe. This is a simple trick that you can use if your original drip rail rusts out or if you do a roof chop like we did and need to reshape it ✅

Thanks Chad for supporting the idea it's wonderful to build a vehicle that's envisioned within our own mind's eye ! I'm getting flack from outsiders whom have a much different outlook than what I'm designing for my own use & recreational purpose ! Letting go of their dream & staying true to mine is refreshing ! I will build & am building my Suzuki Samurai into a tiny 1940's style dodge flat fender narrow hood metal grill Army ambulance .. Head lights on the fender .. it's coming along ! There's not another one like it ! I can't wait to use it & enjoy it ! keeping it light weight & using all my auto body experience & the tricks of the trade .. not to mention a skill set that I have not lost with age ! there's so many new technology proven helpful supplies available too ... my old school craft hasn't lost it's place either ! Thanks again Chad for all the tips & encouragement .. ! Keep .. keeping on ! I am retired & old & love the journey ahead !

I think that the more he got deeper into the build he found errors others tried to fix . So I'm glad he did a build on this car . It would of taken a lot of cash to reserect it as an original car again . But as this car he's done a wonderful job . Choped it mixed it up just like making a salad . I'm super impressed how he can with little cash produce an awesome ride that's a one off each time . Oh heck what do I know eh Chad's the one with all the answers . Thumbs-up Norman 👍

Apparently they missed the part in pretty much every video where chad says this is my way of building a car you do your way. Personally I have no Idea of how to customize it so this is interesting and cool. So what will happen to the car when your done welding on it? Will it be painted and the interior put back in or set outside to rust up and not driven
@john2359

You should have drew a line and used your plasma cutter to cut a slot and put a piece of 18 gauge steel in the slot and tacked it on the backside ground it off and then put your right angle piece on for the drip rail.

Maybe a nice idea for the roof would be to do a opera window …. Like from the Lincoln mark series or like the round port window like the T Bird had in the hard top 55 or 56 model . I feel it would give it a finished look .

Chad have you considered moving the rear axle rearward 4-6 inches to Center the wheel in the wheel well opening? I have always wondered why the factory made the cars that way.

I never understood why Chad stops ("were now up to 23 days and we're going onto 30 days then we'll go onto something else"). These projects look fantastic and if they don't get finished, there's a sort of anti-climax to all his projects. I personally get depressed and switch YT channels for a while just to see finished projects.
