you are showing no spacer between the anode and cathode. Did you use any gasket or spacer at all?

Could you please confirm the iodide electrolytes solution? where did you get it? any suggestion for gel electrolytes?

I have a question Can we use any type of microscopic slide for this?

No you cant , because microscopic slides are non conducting in nature. You must use conducting substrate.
