the strips or blocks. Thank you Gwen Thibodeaux. I’m extremely happy with this collection. I want it to be my very first quilt I make to keep me warm like my dad did as a child and a grown woman. His hobby was bee keeping snd making the queens. Please let me know. Again thank you for this collection. It was the first video of yours I watched by accident. God knew I needed this.

This is great because so many of your books are for beginners and are done very quickly that can be done in a day. So helping new quilter's starting out is good so we can keep quilting going for many years to come...

Thanks for a great video. Your patterns are so easy to follow. Over the last 3 weeks I have made the 5 quilt tops with patterns I bought from you last year. I was cutting and sewing the blocks in one evening and sewing rows together and borders the next night. I challenged myself to use fabrics from my stash. So pleased (and shocked) that I had 14 out of the 15 fabrics needed. The leftover pieces from each set will be used to piece the backings. I'll be back on your website to buy some more patterns. Will be hard to choose as there are so many pretty ones. Had a great year watching and learning from you all. Merry Christmas to you and your family🎄🇦🇺

So I am really to quilting. I recently bought one of your books and three one yard fabrics to make a three yard quilt. I was not told to get a backing fabric because I thought I had everything I needed to make this 3 yard quilt but it seems I need a backing fabric. Is this typical when making a quilt? I'm just wondering what all is needed to make a 3 yard quilt aside from a sewing machine and thread. Please someone tell me what is EVERYTHING that is needed. I appreciate it! :-)

Hello, I love your 3 yard quilt patterns and I have done several. But it seems every time I do a assembly. It is always short by a quarter to a half inch. This happens to me on every single quilt. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I am cutting accurate and I am using a quarter inch seam allowance. Do you have any idea how to help me. Thank you.

Again, I have really enjoked your informative video. I have a question please. I am a newly retired nurse trying my hand at quilting. ( I JUST ORDERED YOUR MUCHROOM FABRIC!). My question is, I don't see Insteuctions in your patterns for the direction on pressing seams. I was told by a recent Insteuctor never buy a pattern without pressing directors. Otherwise the nesting will not come out right. Please advise and thank you in advance.

what is the finished size for the 3 yard quilt?
@FabricCafe Жыл бұрын
Hi Carolyn! They vary by pattern, but most are approx. 45"x60" for a lap-size quit. In the books we have instructions on how to enlarge them to a twin and queen/king size as well.

What are partial assemblies? 20:08
@FabricCafe5 ай бұрын
Hi Jan! Great question. We try to use every bit of fabric we can in our quilts. Sometimes our 3-yard quilt patterns we will have you cut strips of fabric that are not the full width of fabric, only a partial width. This is done for two reasons: because we need to get a few more units for our blocks from a strip assembly, but we don't need the full width of fabric assembly because we would have leftover units that would not be used. Secondly, because by only using a partial width of fabric we are able to cut more pieces from that given fabric that we can use elsewhere in the quilt. In this case with the 'Tic Tac' pattern, we use the remainder of the width of fabric strip to create 'Border Extensions' that we will use to finish our borders. Does that make sense? Hope it helped! 🥰
