BEST VIDEO EVER!! Donna, you are a great teacher and the really close up shots of the ruler showing the lines was so helpful. As an experienced quilter, I'm just watching. The pleasure I had from seeing Hannah make her first quilt is beyond measure. I wish I had a granddaughter to teach but so far...no luck. Hannah, my tip for you...keep crazy glue in your sewing kit. It works great on fingers! And don't worry about math. If needed, I just call my son. My dyslexia is not a math fan. BTW, I'll happily do your laundry if you do my cutting.

Donna, I just learned the difference in pressing and ironing. For my burrito pillow cases I’ve been ironing my pieces of fabric especially my collars and accent pieces. All my pillow case have one end of collar lower than other. No matter how I took my time to cut, iron and sew. Something never matched up. So , I thinking it’d ironing and stretching my fabric instead of pressing. I’ll try this technique tomorrow on my next pillow cases. I haven’t started quilting yet! I want to get Christmas pillow cases completed so I can contrite on quilting. I bought the queen Bee fat quarters. My dad was a bee keeper. So that quilt I will make when I get good at quilting. It’s going to mean so much to me. And Hanna, I hope I’m as calm as you are. I’m 73 and never quilted and really not a good sewer especially straight seams. So I’ll pray for you and wish you much success on your first quilt in your new journey of quilting. Thank you Donna for great teaching. I wish when I start, I could be right next to you for instructing me. But I’ll look at your tutorials!!!

Hello Hannah and Donna, thank you for this video. It was very helpful to see how to prepare the fabric with Mary Ellen best press. And then how to follow the instructions to cut out the pieces. I'm a visual learner, I can read instructions. I'm so glad that your instructions are easier than most. Looking forward to seeing Hannah complete each step. along the way to be able to finish her quilt. Thank you both. for the time and effort it took to make this video.

Watching you Hannah with the insecurity and concentration on cutting the fabric has taken me back 20 years when I first started quilting. As Donna says the more you make the better you do become. I have my second quilt on my bed and the errors are incredibly many as I did Jacobs Ladder. No shortcuts were shown to me. Lovely to watch you. I hope you do enjoy quilting and want to make more.
