Honestly the bleep test is really really clever. Doing it as a group you have people who are faster and slower, while you're also trying to make sure you pass too. It's really tempting to slow down with the slower ones, or speed up with the faster ones due to group mentality. It's not just a show of fitness, but also how disciplined and trusting you are of what you're experiencing and your own instinct. Maybe I'm over analysing but I think it's more than just a general test

You're spot on, it's a psychological thing, nobody wants to be at the back, but in reality it's not a race, nothing wrong with being at the back as long as you make it to the line in time with the next beep

Please don't be worried about the bleep test. I have to take one every year for work. I'm 49 years old. Im not the fittest but I do very light exercise on a regular basis, cycling, slow paced runs. I get well into level 9's and could easily go further. My son is looking towards a career in the military, he doesn't do much exercise and easily got to level 9. I'd rather do the bleep test than the distance run any day of the week. Its all about the timing, you don't want to be waiting at all. Absolutely love your vids Fabziy. You're a great role model for any young person who may face a personal struggle, you have integrity and selfless optimism.

Pass my selection last week and smashed my pb on the bleep. My best before was 9.1 but got 10.9. I'm sure my adrenaline kick in and played apart, but got some great advice beforehand! Get you front foot onto the line at the bleep or as close before as possible and with out stopping spin round, using your weight to spring back and start your next leg. If you can time this right you never stop and can run slower. Also you are not using as much energy to accelerate of the line each time. Bleep test is a clever test 👍

But after 3 months of training 5 days a week I manged to get 11.6 and got it again at the assessment center last December. Very important to run it loads as you will learn lots of technique which helps save up the energy. I've just done my assessment at Westbury and one tip is to rotate the leg you push off after each shuttle. Sharing the burden on both legs will help on those later stages. And of course, practice! Another thing is if you are worried about missing the beeps because of timing, when you are all running together you run in a herd motion and it helps keeping the time/ pace.

It's nothing to be worried about. I did one in my late 20's and scored 9 point something after training but only 7.5 before training. Super-fit is generally defined as 10 or over, as in "athelete" but anything over 8 is very fit. Recovery rate was also tested after 2 minutes recovery as this also matters for an indication of cardio fitness. Special forces and marines/paras are expected to be 10 plus which is incredible! Never managed that despite being very fit!

@louisholmes68124 жыл бұрын
@@Colin44500 build up your stamina, don’t concentrate on 2km first just run to improve yourself and your time then set targets along the way. Also when eventually going for 2km always run just an extra bit to be sure you’ve smashed it.

READ TO PUT YOUR MIND TO REST!.. It’s honestly not the fitness tests that are difficult so do NOT worry about them! I’m a heavy type of guy and rarely ever run and managed to score a 7.7 only needing a bleep score of 6.6 for a driver role, people on the assessment with me chain smoked but were physically fit and managed 9+ on the bleep test.. I’d say practice your Cognitive tests if you want a certain trade as they require scores of 40 upwards to 60 and depending on how academically smart you are these you may struggle with. If you have no GCSE grades you will need to sit a very basic math and English test you have to be borderline brain dead to fail this.. The Medicine ball throw and mid thigh pull are a piece of piss not much to say in regards to them!.. You will smash it! A Medical GP will look at your entire life background however they are pretty lenient just be honest with them as they have every medical issue you have had dating back to when you was born!.. Seriously.. Lastly the interview! Prepare!. Know your CDRILS & values and standards. Along with Everything about the trade you are wanting to join. Where you go to basic training what the training consists of what you will learn in that trade!.. Learn everything about that job! The interviewer will strip you to pieces if you don’t! I hope this helped and good luck!

Guys who are doing this don’t worry it’s really easy just go slow and don’t sprint until you need to the levels don’t really go beyond jogging level until around 9+ if you do some running and 2km before hand you’ll find this a piece of piss and be able to smash it 👍

Fabziy on the bleep test what is the requirement needed now for the RA (Royal Artillery ) because in my day in the RA we didn't have these Bleep tests,all we had was the basic fitness assessment at Sutton Coldfield for 3 days and on the 4th day we was sent straight to our training depots/bararcks, depending on what you chose to join from the list of army branches you were given from the score of all your tests, and the higher your score the more options/choices you had, I chose the RA and I had the Paras on my list and had I chose to join the Paras I would have been sent home for 6 weeks on full pay, but I was so eager to get my army training and army life started I chose something that was accepting a new intake immediately, and as it worked out I travelled to Woolwich Arsenal and we was put in to a holding troop because the living quarters we was going to be occupying for 14 weeks was still being used by the recruits on their final week training which was just practicing their passing out parade, i did get back squaded (as they called it back in 1980) as I underwent two surgical procedures in my first month of training and was sent home on sick leave on both occasions, I had completed up to week 3 so it was from week 4,as my 2nd operation followed straight after returning to barracks after my first spell of sick leave as the 1st operation wasn't a success, and the operation I had was the same one i had in civvy street 3 weeks prior to my reporting for duty date and all my hospital notes had to accompany me to my training so that I could hand it in to the medics so the drs could see what I had done and sent me up to the Military hospital for a check up where the surgeon found I needed an operation straight away as even my first operation in civvy street hadn't even worked, but I eventually passed out in blazing hot sunshine, it was so hot that a couple of the lads actually passed out even one of the officers taking the pass out parade passed out because it was that hot and in the end our parade had to be cut short by 20 mins for safety reasons,

Hi. Many moons ago I was an ACCI in the Army. I’m now 62 and need to get 8.8 to be a Retained Fireman. I know I’m old and out of shape, but was gutted to only get 2.4 on my first attempt. Which bleep test are you using?

On Spotify, and KZbin I believe, there's a beep test named '20m Bleep Test (complete test)' by Adam Howard. This is the correct audio for Retained Firefighters Assessment. I am doing the same.
