I found one of these things when I was 17 years old. I was examining a black head that I extracted from my nose and this thing was on the slide. remember six legs but everything else was the same. I drew a picture for every scientific person that I had a class with and met but no one could tell me what it was. I am now 77 years old and finally I know so Thank you for that.

A method that I prefer, if you have oily skin like me. Drag the back edge of a fingernail firmly along your face skin; around the nose works well. Then wipe the sample from the nail onto a slide. This way, the creatures are not "stuck" with glue or tape. It's very interesting to watch them journey around the slide. Many people diagnosed with rosacea have an over abundance of demodex mites. Search for products for human demondex skin treatments. If this is the source of your reddening and outbreaks, specific demodex treatment will help tremendously. A warning...your skin will get worse before it gets better, as they die off. Regular use of demodex products will keep them under control. Those with serious acne may try demodex treatment to see if will help.

@@msbeth420 Infestation of demodex does not result in hard bumps on the scalp. Nearly every human being is colonized by demodex and is asymptomatic. Unless you have an underlying immunodeficiency or other condition, it is unlikely that skin mites are the root of your issue. Are you seeing a dermatologist specifically? That would be your best bet for resolving any skin issues. Also, trying to treat perceived skin issues at home with various oils or lotions might only exacerbate the issue and make the root cause more difficult to address.

And yet I never hear dermatologists mention these as a potential cause of skin flakes... Skin problems.
@lizrusso92743 жыл бұрын
Demodex mites actually cause rosacea and hair loss. Doctors never tell you that either.
@SkyCloudSilence3 жыл бұрын
They also shame anyone who says they feel like bugs are in their skin, and tell them it's "all in their head", and then tell them to see a psychiatrist. Hateful human beings.
@kareldegreef39453 жыл бұрын
it could also be that because of skin problems you will have too much of these buggers => so they might be a indication and not a causation of skin problems ! knowing that most of the problems are caused by environmental stresses , fysical , chemical and emotional . most people eat too much junkfood and it shows at there biggest organ => the skin think abouth that first ;-)

I have démodex eye wash for my chronic dry eyes ! It contains tree tea oil.
@Call-me-Al3 жыл бұрын
They are like intestinal worms: if you have a huge amount of them, that means your body is not dealing with them like a normal healthy body would. It implies health issues that the mites took advantage of to survive.

Pepermint oil skin products for me ..see spiders hate peppermint oil !!! Try tea tree shampoos aswell and other body sprays to help control skin parasites that have been around for along time with us .Take care of your skin you need it as much as any other natural part of your hygiene health care cleansing routine.

Good. I’m trying to figure out my rosacea problem but I’m skeptical that demodex mites are causing it.

Somehow found this video.... BTW, use any soap with Tea Tree oil in it regularly if you want to minimize the infestation. Especially the eyelid area and eyebrows. I use the hippy-dippy Dr. Bronners Peppermint-Hemp castile soap as it has a fair amount of tea tree oil in it, and a bottle lasts a year when diluted for body wash, facial scrub, ear cleaner and the sink soap foamer. It is a very good degreaser and my glasses are squeaky clean. Oops, you can tell I like it. Great channel, I'm subbing now.

I mean why should I be considerate and respectful to them when they don't respect me? They're living on me without asking for my permission, they don't pay rent, they don't even keep me company or introduce themselves and they don't even protect my skin from other stuff like rashes and mosquitos or blackheads. Those disrespectful little freeloader rascals ... .
