@@thecatlady6 his guide made it very clear that it was a bad idea. He wouldn’t even say “Israel” in front of them. That hatred has been bred deeply into them and him being an American is bad enough- being a Jewish American? Forget about it. That would’ve been a bad, bad day. I’m glad he followed his guide’s advice.
@thecatlady63 жыл бұрын
@@EmKnowsThings 💯 I agree! You worded it better than I could have. So many people just don't get that. Hatred of Jews, Americans and Jewish Americans is embedded into many, but not all, Muslim children from very young ages. There are Muslims who don't share this hatred. I am an Orthodox Jewish woman who dresses modestly. I cover my hair, usually with a tichel (scarf), and I've met several Muslim women with whom I've had wonderful conversations about covering our hair. We have different customs (ex. in Judaism, only married women cover their hair; in Islam, even young girls start covering at different ages depending on their sect's customs) but we have mostly the same reasons. No hatred can be seen or heard between us. Just enjoyment of a beautiful shared custom. (In my profile pic, I'm wearing a "sheitel" (wig) which is another way Jewish women cover our hair.)

@@thecatlady6 yes, I live in NYC metro so I am quite familiar. Funny story, when I first moved here from Georgia, I had NO IDEA because we had zero Hasidic people where I lived. We didn’t have any growing up in Alexandria, VA either. One day, I asked a Jewish coworker, “how is their hair always so perfect? I could never keep my hair looking that good if I had to chase around kids all day.” She looked at me and said, “wait, are you serious? It’s a wig!” I had no idea and we both had a good laugh. I went home and found lots of YT channels to help me understand the religion and how to best serve the population. I have to say, ultra orthodox patients have been the kindest, most gentle, and extremely grateful patients I have had. Of course there are exceptions, but most have been such loving, kind hearted people. ❤️ I do not understand all of the hate and comments made by “regular” Jewish people, Catholics, etc. It hurts my heart. We should all spread love.

I had a similar experience when I "snuck into" an anti Israeli/pro Palestinian University event in UBC in Canada a while ago with my Chabad kippah and tzitzit out. It's very interesting how some people literally do not know what the person they hate looks like. They assumed I was Muslim actually due to my beard and kippah that covered my whole head. Maybe he was meant to hear that from HKBH but converts are a big part of Judaism and highly respected. That's why we pray for them 3 times a day every day in Amidah. Of course I haven't finished my giyur so I don't claim any of those things but for the sake of showing another side of yahadut I think Shloime you can do great interviews with people like Nissim Black and Michael Ben Avraham, and other famous converts.
