Paul Roberts was The Stranglers Frontman from 1990- 2006. The Stranglers had released 5 Studio Albums with him. And this Albums are very good. And Paul did a very good Job as their Singer. I mean Albums like About Time or the punkish Norfolk Coast are great Albums so far. Thank you Paul ❤

Good for you for getting us this interview & insight. I only began reading about the background to Hughs’ leaving the band & John saying he felt betrayed . On one hand it’s all ancient history but on another without those events we wouldn’t be where we are .

The lowest `point in their career. I don't what this guy brought to the band, it wasn't even the Stanglers at this point and has never gone back to the glory and energy of the original lineup.

Better than Warne??? Ha ha you are utterly deluded...stranglers with baz material dwarves anything mk2 did. Respect for Roberts he had an impossible job but the live audiences were dwindling before Norfolk Coast. I wish him all the best though

@@simonbarber2098No, I'm not utterly deluded, I just have a different opinion - one which does not measure quality merely by commercial success or the size of a "love [sic] audience". I'd take Hugh's voice over either of these any day though.

I measure it by the actual quality of the music which with Baz is as good as mk1.

You obviously don't know the History of the band. Hugh was in the first and best line-up but he left in 1990. The Stranglers were Hughs band but they continued without him. 🫤

Paul’s’ face or the shape of the front of his head does offer more of a resemblance to Bowie than anyone else in The Stranglers & his speaking voice is in a similar frequency to David’s’ so I can see where comparisons lie. For me Baz certainly sounds uncannily like Hugh although I’m on dangerous ground with half the fans !
