You’re bundled against the Arctic chill. You’re loaded with equipment. And that big white bear who’s just slashed your tires has a toothache. Where is that helicopter? Norbert Rosing leads young readers into the wintry world of the dangerous polar bear, who has good reason to be angry at man’s intrusions. Let this National Geographic expert show you the bears’ playful side; learn how they make nests for hibernation, why their coats are so white, and how you can help to protect their environment from the effects of global warming.

It broke my heart while seeing the sister bear starving so young. They didn't do any wrong, but we human change their environments and cause their survival chance lower every year. This is so sad. Hope she could survive after all the difficulties and hope that everybody could really take action reducing the Co 2 emissions. Global Warming is real.

My grandpa used to work for Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. And every year they would go to the north to help the baby polo bears. It is a very dangerous place for a baby animal to be because it is frozen and there are many dangers. So they used to take the baby ones back to America and raise them in the circus where they would be safe

@@simulatedpilot3441 I fully agree. People want to turn their backs on global warming but it's happening. Our cities produce heat which in turn warms up everything around them for miles. It's not a case that the heat just dissipates, it doesn't. Heat rises. People should do the math. I think people have become desensitized because of the way the media has spun it. I really enjoyed watching the bears and I hope the female bear can hold out.
@PAULLONDEN
@PAULLONDEN 3 жыл бұрын
*@Mo John* Can imagine the overriding scepticism about much media these days. One shouldn't over do it though. Admittedly "climate change" happened on this planet eons before humans. It's seems obvious though that rampant industrialisation by billions of people leaves a mark on the environment , and climate change might happen faster than usual. It's no shame to be sensitive about what planet we leave to generations after us. We should be careful not to cry wolf too often and breed scepticism. This Covid crisis is probably also a part of world wide economics. Especially China's unchecked industrialisation to supply all of us with unnecessay cheap throwaway products manufactured under virtual slave labour with no eye for the environment. Close friends with the Chinese Communist party while keeping the anti Russia flame burning to please "Our Fine Military" , which sure will become busines as usual with the coming white house administration .

This would have been an excellent documentary if it wasn't for the same exact footage of these same polar bears in a documentary titled Be A Predator : Poles - Animals Documentary. Granted the footage has been edited differently, what is more, upsetting is both the male and female cubs footage from the previous documentary is now interchanged. How on earth did these same bears change their sex? I'll tell you how; they didn't! Which means BOTH documentaries narration cannot be trusted. Don't get me wrong, the footage is stunning but nonetheless upsetting. You think you're learning something by watching a documentary only to find out the narration is bogus. Who knows, how much of this is bogus? What I do know is it makes it harder to trust even "Global Warning" narration if they can't even get the bears sex or life stories correct. BAHHHHHHH

Learn your climate science. Compare the apocalyptic predictions to the actual data. Look at the policy proposals. Most don't make sense. Paris Accords basically said the biggest and fastest-growing polluters would decide to maybe do something in 2030. They set something up so a handful of brokers could trade on made-up carbon credits, but none of the proposals touch the problem, assuming the problem is our fault, which is highly doubtful when you stop your religious nonsense and look at all the factors involved and the historical and geological record. By all means, make predictions. Examine your sheep entrails for signs. But recognize that CO2 is probably a very minor player in the Solar-Earth climate relationship. Maybe you power elites should just shut up and plant some trees and come up with a water plan for California while you're at it.
