Hi, I managed to tell my mum the same day I watched this (today) and she said she will always be there for me and that she is proud of me for taking the big step to tell her So thanks you so much! 💜🧡

Oh and I forgot to mention, I told my parents I was interested in therapy. They were okay with it, it was a little awkward but it was okay. I don’t want to keep bugging them but i don’t believe they have been looking into it since I only brought it up once. I don’t want to bring it up a lot cause it is awkward and I don’t know their reaction. They might just think it was like a one time thing. What should I do? Also, what is the difference between depression and anxiety?

I just feel anxious and like unmotivated and I get very fatigued easily amd I looked it up and some of the other things I’m feeling are symptoms of depression and I’m just kinda worried bc I feel like I should get help from someone and tell my parents but the last time I told my mom I was sad she just dismissed me and said that it’s bc I’m on my phone too much amd I just don’t want them to think that I’m asking for attention amd I don’t want them to just say it’s normal or smth and I’m just really overwhelmed with everything and I don’t really know how to handle it so I’m kinda just like yea

You got this! Remember you can break this into pieces. It doesn't all have to be in one conversation. Start small and build from there.

hey Mallory, so iv been feeling sad and been having thoughts of suicide for a very long time. i have self harmed a few years ago then I stopped ,but now iv started again . I recently started home schooling in January and it was my first time doing that type of schooling, iv been struggling to catch up on the work and I feel I might have signs of depression. I want to tell my parents about it ,but I'm too scared to because they might think im making an excuse for not doing the work and working slow . I have been tested for anxiety but I dont take anything for it ... and Idk when or how to tell them that I want to get help because I'm scared of getting to a point where it's too late and those thoughts really get to me .

Yup- total possibility. The more you talk about it with them though, the more they can understand how serious it is for you. Have you seen this video yet about helping parents take you and your mental health seriously? kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpbIp5aCpbybhpY

I've got 2 video playlists just for these struggles: Guided Self Help for Suicidal Teens: kzbin.info/aero/PLiLAumV7icFH-xD9hvb1-ZNyFWBlKbP9U Guided Self Help for Self-Harming Teens: kzbin.info/aero/PLiLAumV7icFGTOtTc5eCM8QfPr17rN5S- There's some overlap because the skills for each tend to work for both.
